Chapter 2 - Extended Beginnings

As I opened my eyes, I winced at the small beam of light that hurt. Wait, where was I? This isn't my bed at all.. I sat up to discover that a vast blue sky was over me, with a village ahead of me?!

'If this is a dream, this was a pretty good one' I thought to myself.

Getting up, I looked at the environment that surrounded me, it was.. nothing but vast and magnificent. The amount of trees with the birds gently chirping into the wind, the crisp smell of air that wafted around me. It was nothing short of a fairytale-like setting.. Nice one brain, very realistic..

I was so engrossed by the foliage around me that I didn't even notice the clothes I was wearing until I looked at my feet. Why do I look like I'm wearing a picnic blanket as an outfit..

'Dude, did I even change my clothes before bed?..' As I wandered around in my confusion, someone suddenly taps my shoulder.

"Hello, you seem quite lost?"

I silently yelped as I looked over my shoulder. I took in the appearance of the girl that just scared me half to death. Strangely, she looks oddly familiar. Dark brown wavy hair, hazel eyes, and is in some sort of vintage style of dress.

"I.. uh.." The words struggled to get out of my mouth as I was even more lost in my confusion, isn't this one of the people I wrote in my journal one time?..

The girl held the cuff of my dress, looking at me concern in her eyes

"How about let's get back to town first it's pretty cold out here you know?" She told me, with a reassuring smile on her face.

Without a word, we started walking to a town in the distance. I felt stupid that I quite literally just followed a stranger without even asking for their name first. Oh well, I'll just wake up soon anyway. No biggie.

Well, we went a complete 180 of what I said. We had already been walking for quite some time now, yet I still don't feel my body clock trying to jolt me awake, weird.. It's even weirder that the more I'm around her, the more familiarity I feel. Wasn't her name Lumi or something?

As we got closer to the town, I finally gathered up the courage to ask her name. I cleared up my throat and spoke to her:

"Uh, this may be a bit sudden.. But, what is your name?"

The girl looked at me with excitement, like she was anticipating for me to ask that question ever since we met.

"Oh, my name is Lumina! Feels great that you finally asked me that question." She said, with a hint of sarcasm in her voice.

Through her excitement, my eyes widened. No way, wasn't she the character I wrote in my journal a few years ago? How am I suddenly dreaming about this?..

My mind suddenly went back to reality as I tried to shake the feeling off, realizing I forgot to give her a reply.

"You have a nice name, Lumina." I gave her a soft smile.

"My name is Ling, happy to meet you."

Lumina held the cuff of my sleeve tighter as she had a sense of delight on her face.

"Looks like we're already here, welcome to Celestevale!" Lumina held her hand in the air exaggeratedly.

"Celestevale..." I mumbled, this was definitely the exact town I wrote of alright.. I scanned around the multiple houses I could see, with the place bustling with people. I have imagined this story before, but I never imagined it to be better than what I thought of...

Lumina looked at me with curiosity as I was already lost in my thoughts again.

"So~ would you like me to take you around the town? I promise, there are LOTS of amazing stuff here!"

Losing my train of thought, I looked at her while nodding, feeling excited to explore the very place that only existed in my mind.

"Y-yeah! I guess we could have a look around."

Lumina suddenly went behind me, placing two hands on my shoulders, pushing me slightly.

"Well then, what're you waiting for? I can't wait to show you the things around here! I have a feeling you'll like them.. Oo, where should we start first.."

As she mumbled her suggestions, I thought:

'This should be fun, doing something else for a change. Maybe I could get used to this...'
