Haruka, in the Abyss armor, follows Hila as she glides effortlessly through the underwater currents on a dolphin-shaped vehicle. The princess, familiar with the wonders of Atlantis, guides him deeper into the breathtaking city.
As they approach the towering structures, Haruka marvels at how seamlessly they blend with the natural formations of the seafloor. The buildings, constructed with a harmonious blend of technology and organic elements, seem to grow out of the very environment itself.
Hila steers the dolphin-like craft towards a bustling area, and Haruka's eyes widen as they come upon what appears to be an underwater mall. The structure's sleek, curved walls are adorned with glowing panels and holographic displays, and through the transparent windows, he can see Atlanteans browsing the various shops and establishments within.
"This is one of our central marketplaces," Hila explains, her voice carrying a hint of pride. "Atlanteans from all walks of life come here to shop, dine, and socialize."
Haruka nods, his gaze fixed on the vibrant scene unfolding before him. As they move closer, he spots an open-air street market, where vendors hawk their wares and the air is filled with the tantalizing aromas of Atlantean cuisine.
"Look over there," Hila says, gesturing towards the bustling market. "That is where many of our people come to enjoy the culinary delights of our kingdom."
Haruka's stomach rumbles at the sight, and he can't help but feel a pang of hunger. "It all looks quite extraordinary," he says, his voice tinged with wonder.
Hila chuckles, a playful glint in her eyes. "Then perhaps we should stop and indulge in a taste of Atlantis?" She expertly maneuvers the dolphin-shaped craft towards the market, and Haruka can't help but feel a growing sense of excitement.
As they approach the vibrant stalls, Haruka takes in the sights and sounds of the Atlantean marketplace. The vendors call out to passing Atlanteans, offering an array of exotic seafood, fragrant spices, and delicately crafted delicacies. Haruka's eyes dart from one stall to the next, unsure of where to begin.
Hila guides the craft to a particularly lively stall, where an Atlantean vendor greets them with a warm smile. "Princess Hila! And who is your companion?"
"This is Kamen Rider," Hila introduces, "a guest in our city. I thought he might enjoy sampling some of our finest cuisine."
The vendor's eyes widen with delight. "Ah, of course! Please, allow me to present you with a selection of our most delectable dishes."
Haruka watches in fascination as the vendor carefully prepares a variety of seafood-based delicacies, each one more tantalizing than the last. The aromas waft through the water, and Haruka finds himself eagerly anticipating the first bite.
The vendor presents the platter to them, an array of vibrant and fragrant Atlantean delicacies. Hila turns to Haruka and says, "Go on, dig in. I know you must be hungry after our journey."
Haruka eyes the tempting dishes, his mouth watering in anticipation. However, he quickly realizes the challenge of eating underwater. Hila notices his hesitation and says, "Oh, let me help with that."
With a graceful motion, Hila creates a shimmering air bubble around Haruka's head, allowing him to breathe freely. "There, now you can enjoy the flavors of Atlantis."
Haruka nods gratefully, "Thank you, Hila."
The mouthpiece of his Abyss armor opens up, and he takes a cautious bite of the succulent fish. The flavors burst in his mouth, the freshness and subtle seasonings tantalizing his taste buds.
"This is amazing," Haruka says, his voice muffled slightly by the air bubble. "The fish is so fresh and the seasonings are perfectly balanced."
Hila smiles, pleased to see Haruka's enjoyment. "I'm glad you're enjoying it."
Haruka noticed that there were some Atlanteans who were watching their every move. He leaned in closer to Hila and asked in a low voice, "Have you noticed those Atlanteans watching us?"
Hila glanced around casually, her regal bearing unfazed. "Oh, don't worry about them," she replied. "They are just my personal guards, making sure I'm safe while I show you around."
Haruka's eyes narrowed slightly, but he nodded in understanding. "I see. It's good to know you have such attentive protection."
As they continued their stroll through the bustling Atlantean marketplace, Haruka couldn't help but feel a slight unease. The way the guards seemed to track their every move, even as they indulged in the local cuisine, made him wonder if there was more to their presence than Hila was letting on.
Haruka follows Hila as she guides him through more wonders of Atlantis. They glide past towering spires, schools of exotic fish, and bustling thoroughfares filled with Atlantean citizens going about their daily lives. Hila points out key landmarks and explains the history and culture of her kingdom, captivating Haruka with her regal poise and wealth of knowledge.
Eventually, they return to the palace, where Hila bids Haruka farewell for the day. "I've shown you but a glimpse of Atlantis," she says. "In the future, I shall take you to Xebel, my own kingdom. There, you will witness the true might and splendor of the Atlantean people."
Haruka nods, his eyes shining with anticipation. "I look forward to it, Princess Hila." He watches as she departs, her graceful movements a testament to her royal upbringing.
Returning to his guest quarters, Haruka finds himself alone, surrounded by the alien yet captivating decor of Atlantis. He removes his Abyss armor, feeling the weight of the day's events settle upon him. Despite the wonders he has witnessed, a sense of unease lingers, as he cannot forget the watchful eyes of Hila's guards or the subtle tension he sensed between her and Prince Orm.
Haruka sinks onto the bed to sleep. His body aches from the day's events, and he feels the weight of Atlantis' mysteries pressing down upon him. As his eyes drift shut, he wonders what other wonders and challenges await him in this underwater realm.
…
Hila walks down the ornate halls of the Atlantean palace, her footsteps echoing against the gleaming surfaces. A faint smile plays on her lips as she reflects on the day she spent with Haruka, the enigmatic Kamen Rider. She had enjoyed his company and the way he marveled at the wonders of her underwater kingdom.
As Hila approaches her room, she senses a familiar presence. Pushing open the door, she finds her sister, Mera, waiting inside. "Mera," Hila says, greeting the Queen of Atlantis with a nod.
Mera rises from her seat, a knowing smile on her face. "Hello, dear sister. I've been waiting for you." She steps closer, her eyes twinkling with mischief. "I heard you've been spending quite a lot of time with our friend, the Kamen Rider."
Hila feels a faint blush creep up her cheeks, but she maintains her composure. "He has been most helpful in protecting me from those who would do me harm," she replies evenly.
"Is that all?" Mera asks, her tone laced with playful insinuation. "I can't help but notice the way you look at him, Hila. There seems to be more between you two than mere gratitude."
Hila felt a familiar warmth rise to her cheeks at Mera's teasing words. She averted her gaze, unsure of how to respond. "I care for the Kamen Rider as I would any ally who has proven his worth," she said, her tone measured.
Mera's smile widened as she stepped closer, placing a gentle hand on Hila's arm. "Come now, sister. I've known you your entire life. I can see the way your eyes light up when you speak of him." She paused, her expression softening. "There's no need to hide your feelings. I only want to see you happy."
Hila felt the warmth in her cheeks deepen at Mera's words. "It is not what you think, sister," she said, her voice tinged with a hint of defensiveness. "The Kamen Rider is merely an ally, nothing more."
Mera's laughter filled the room, her eyes sparkling with amusement.
"Oh, Hila, you can't fool me. I see the way you look at him, the way your entire demeanor changes when he is near." She stepped closer, placing a hand on Hila's shoulder.
"We are so very similar, you and I. We both found ourselves drawn to those who dwell on the surface, did we not?"
Hila's eyes widened slightly at the implication, but she did not deny it. "Aquaman is your husband, your king. The Kamen Rider is simply—"
"Simply what?" Mera interrupted, her tone playful. "A brave, noble warrior who has risked himself to protect you? A man who has seen the beauty of our world and yet still treats you as an equal?" She squeezed Hila's shoulder gently. "Do not be afraid to embrace what your heart desires, Hila. You deserve happiness, just as I have found with Arthur."
Hila opened her mouth to respond, but the words seemed to catch in her throat. Mera's words had struck a chord within her, awakening emotions she had carefully guarded.
With a final, affectionate smile, Mera turned to leave. "Think on what I've said, sister. And know that I only want what is best for you." She paused at the door, glancing back over her shoulder. "Farewell, Hila. I suspect we shall speak of this again soon."
As the door closed behind Mera, Hila found herself alone, her thoughts swirling. Mera's words had planted a seed of possibility, a glimmer of hope that perhaps her feelings for the Kamen Rider were not as one-sided as she had believed. Hila sighed, running a hand through her crimson hair, and allowed herself to ponder the implications of what her sister had said.
