"I'm just worried she might run away. After all, I've paid her five million for my treatment. Call her. Put it on speaker," Fu Hannen ordered coldly, holding the cigarette that wafted smoke into the air.
Aunt Chen, understanding her young master's concerns, suppressed a smile as she dialed Gu Yining's number.
Gu Yining had always struggled with sleep quality. Not only was she plagued by nightmares, but she was also exceptionally sensitive to sound; even the slightest noise would wake her up.
That night, she was sharing a bed with Xiao Xiao, who had sprawled out, her legs resting comfortably against Gu Yining's waist, making her look adorably innocent in her sleep.
When the phone rang, Gu Yining reached for it on the bedside table, careful not to wake Xiao Xiao. She gently moved her legs aside and tiptoed out of the room to answer the call.
"Aunt Chen, what's going on so late?" she asked.
"Madam, the Fu residence has a curfew. Why haven't you returned yet?" Aunt Chen replied, casting a cautious glance at Fu Hannen.
"I'm staying at a friend's house tonight. I'll head back to school with her tomorrow," Gu Yining explained.
"Is it a male or female friend?" Aunt Chen immediately inquired, knowing Fu Hannen would want to know.
"It's a girl. How could I possibly sleep at a male classmate's house? Did Fu Hannen send you to ask me this?" Gu Yining caught on, gripping her phone tightly.
"Uh…" Aunt Chen, seeing Fu Hannen give her a pointed look, quickly denied it. "Of course not! The young master went to bed early. I'm just doing my duty."
"Oh, fine then. I'll just stay here another night. If Fu Hannen is still mad at me, I wouldn't dare go back," Gu Yining said casually.
At this, Fu Hannen slammed his cigarette into the ashtray, frustration simmering beneath his calm exterior. How bold of her to say she wouldn't dare go back! Who would believe such words?
"A young master's temper is always like this—cold and aloof, giving off a frightening vibe. Don't misunderstand," Aunt Chen advised, sensing the tension.
Fu Hannen shot her a look, silently urging her to end the call.
Aunt Chen had no choice but to hastily wrap up the conversation. "Well, since I know you're at a friend's house, I can rest easy. I'll hang up now."
"Okay, goodbye." Gu Yining ended the call.
Fu Hannen waved his hand dismissively. "You can leave now."

The next day, at a lavish social gathering filled with the elite, Fu Hannen unexpectedly ran into Xiao Yan, a representative from Xiao Entertainment.
Typically reserved and uninterested in small talk, Fu Hannen approached Xiao Yan, greeting her and pausing to chat for a moment.
"How has Aunt Xiao been lately?" he asked, dressed impeccably in a tailored black suit, crisp and wrinkle-free. His dark eyes held a cold glint, revealing a serious demeanor.
Xiao Yan was a savvy woman in the workplace, donning a well-fitted professional outfit that complemented her elegant makeup and vibrant red lips. "Hannen, it's been a while since we've dined together. I see you're here today. Are you thinking about investing in some projects in the entertainment industry?"
"No, I just wanted to ask if your daughter has been going on blind dates," Fu Hannen replied straightforwardly, skipping any unnecessary pleasantries.
At his question, Xiao Yan's eyes flickered. "You're not interested in our Xiao Xiao, are you? In that case, I won't bother with the matchmaking; I'll just set you two up directly!"
"Aunt Xiao, you misunderstand. I just hope you can encourage your daughter to go on dates and consider marrying sooner rather than later," Fu Hannen clarified, then turned to leave, presenting her with his indifferent back.
Xiao Yan stood frozen, processing his words.
She was left puzzled, unable to grasp the situation. Had Xiao Xiao really angered the notoriously cold Fu Hannen?
