"Unless your intentions change, what's there to fear in provoking you?" Fu Hanye had already tidied up his clothes, the golden-trimmed sleeves rolled up to reveal his attractive wrists. His expression remained devoid of any excess emotions, his cold eyes brimming with calmness.
"Why do you want to keep me around?" Gu Yining glanced at him, the earlier intensity of her emotions finally subsiding.
"I hope you can quickly heal my sense of smell— the sooner, the better," Fu Hanye replied earnestly, his tone sincere.
"If this is a transaction, then I need you to pay me the full four million, and in addition, help me resolve my return to school," Gu Yining stated clearly and without hesitation, laying out her terms.
"Deal," Fu Hanye agreed readily, a hint of relief flashing in his eyes.
Before leaving the room, Fu Hanye paused at the door, his lips curling slightly. "Move back to the guest room upstairs. The first floor is for the servants; don't lower your value!"
Gu Yining's eyes widened in surprise as she watched Fu Hanye's striking figure disappear from view.
Moments later, the housekeeper knocked on the door and entered, accompanied by several servants.
"Madam, the young master instructed me to bring some servants to help you pack your things and move upstairs."
Gu Yining nodded, stepping down from the bed and allowing the servants to tidy up.
The housekeeper approached her, pulling out a bank card and handing it to her. "This is the payment the young master is giving you for your medical treatment—a total of five million."
"Why five million?" Gu Yining hesitated, not immediately reaching for the card.
"The extra million is a monthly allowance from the young master to you, Madam," the housekeeper patiently explained.
Wow, has Fu Hanye suddenly turned kind? She felt a bit unsteady with such unexpected generosity. What should she do about this?
With a mix of emotions, she took the card, carefully slipping it into her pocket.
That evening, Gu Yining found herself on the second floor, her guest room tastefully decorated, complete with warm-toned sheets that she adored.
Lying on the soft bed, she gazed up at the crystal chandelier, replaying the kiss she had shared with Fu Hanye earlier.
To be honest, his kissing skills were impressive. If only he weren't gay, things could be so different.
The next day arrived, and Gu Yining received the notification that she could resume her studies at Ling City University.
Fu Hanye, the king of Ling City, had the power to make anything happen with just a word.
Early in the morning, eager to thank Fu Hanye for helping her return to school, Gu Yining decided to cook breakfast for him—a first in her life.
As she prepared to head downstairs, she heard him coming down, ready for work. When Fu Hanye approached the dining table, he paused at the sight of a rather charred fried egg sitting on a plate, with Gu Yining standing beside it like a devoted servant. He sensed that something was off.
Ahead of him, a dark culinary disaster loomed; food poisoning felt like a real risk.
"Good morning, dear! I made you breakfast! I swear, it's all made by my own hands. Why not sit down and give it a try?" Gu Yining said sweetly, pulling out a chair and gesturing for him to sit.
Dressed in a fitted black suit, Fu Hanye radiated an air of danger that seemed to warn others to keep their distance.
"Are you trying to murder your husband?" Fu Hanye scoffed, his tone dripping with sarcasm.
Gu Yining stole a glance at her burnt egg, swallowing nervously. "You won't die from it! Just to prove it, I'll have a taste first."
With that, she took a fork and cut off a piece, popping it into her mouth.
"Ugh…"
The overpowering taste of burnt food mixed with excessive salt assaulted her taste buds, and she sprinted toward the trash can, retching violently.
Fu Hanye shook his head with a chuckle, turning to leave for work.
Li Feng, who trailed closely beside Fu Hanye, caught sight of the rare smile on his face and immediately thought he must be seeing things.
