"If we do not stop him now, then it will be the end for us all."
An old fat man clad in a royal outfit befitting that of a king roared. His expression was that of anger and despair.
Gritting his teeth, he looked at the people in front of him. All of them were the peak powerhouses of the world; some were kings and Queens, while some were the strongest adventurers of that world.
He looked at them all, searching for even a single strand of hope he could lean on.
"All of this is happening because of your selfishness. We all know what you did and we also realise that this wrath of that demon God is something you have brought upon yourself. Even after knowing about her connection with him, you still dared to capture her... even the goddess of life cannot protect you anymore. From what I know, she calls him the reincarnation of the demonic supreme, the God of all demons."
A woman, in her late twenties, wearing a black outfit that of a saintess spoke while praying to the goddess of life.
Everyone else nodded their head inwardly. They were elegant and conscious enough to know what to do. Even if the king looks like an old fat pig, he is one of the strongest mages in the world, so angering him would be a fatal offence.
'Even the saintess who is favoured by the goddess herself is afraid of him... what am I supposed to do now? Curse that bastard... why... what am I supposed to do now? Hmm...?'
The king was fuming more and more in rage, even though strong, the scene outside the palace made him feel despair.
And just as he was about to finally give in, he saw a figure that gave him hope.
'The hero...'
A woman in her mid-twenties, with long white hair cascading down to her hips and sapphire-like blue eyes. An unparalleled beauty that could light up the list inside any man, even the eunuchs.
Such a curvaceous body that it could be called perfection. Even among countless beauties, her beauty couldn't be matched with anyone.
The king who was in despair, even he himself, felt the desire to have that beauty by his side, but he didn't dare to.
If he was one of the strongest in the whole world, then she was, without a doubt, the STRONGEST.
Her beauty wasn't the only thing that made her different; it was her strength as well; the only one who had the chance to stand against the demon king was none other than her.
"Hero... you have to do something, otherwise the billions of people of my kingdom, all of them will be dead. That monster is too cruel to even spare a newborn..."
The king didn't even hesitate to beg her to aid him, he didn't care about his dignity at all. All of the remaining couldn't help but look at him with scornful gaze, each one throwing curses at him deep in their heart.
"You should have thought of the consequences beforehand, King Edward. The demon king and his army... it isn't something to look down upon. If you ask me I do not have the confidence to defeat them all."
A cold voice, without any hint of emotion, was heard by all.
The people call her a hero for her bravery, in fighting for them and protecting them from any threat that befallen them. But she wasn't a naive hero with the mindset of justice in her mind. If something wrong happens in front of her, then she will do anything in her power to stop it.
And right now, she is well aware of the situation, who is in the right and who is in the wrong, but she cannot just ignore the countless lives of this kingdom.
Everyone else also put all of their hopes on her, as she was the only one who could go against that dark army.
All of the gazes were fixated on her, but she didn't give it any heed. She was focused on what was in front of her.
'Just how many are they? This doesn't seem to end at all.'
She thought, looking at the outside scene of the palace.
The whole kingdom was full of dark clouds, thunder striking everywhere, and the horrendous roar of monsters could be heard everywhere.
Countless beasts were flying above the kingdom, all of them shrouded in a thick miasma of dark aura, more precisely known as the demonic mana in their language.
And below those huge sky supremes was an army of undead beasts that were also shrouded in that same miasma and were marching towards the ki gdom at their full speed.
'Such a horrifying scene... just for that girl... even though she is considered to show the path to ascend to the higher realm, I do not think he is like those people to use her in that way.' The hero thought again.
But this time, another voice replied to her inside her head.
'I also feel the same. Even though I hate the fact that he is a demon, he has never shown the desire for a higher power... but this time, the doings of that king have angered him; I do not think he will stop even if we return her now.'
'True...'
'You seem sad, Eleanor. Are you perhaps jealous?' The voice asked the hero, whose name is Eleanor.
This flustered her, but she didn't show anything to the outside.
And before she could speak, the voice sounded again.
'No need to hide it from me. We have been together for years now. You are a capable human whose potential was enough to even summon me, the queen of the spirits. And I can tell he holds equal if not higher potential than you, a man worthy enough for you. But he is a demon and we spirits hate demons to the core. And he needs to be stopped today, so bury all of your feelings; if not, the death of all the people of this kingdom will be your responsibility.'
'I understand... she must be really precious for him to wage war upon the entire world. I cannot help being envious of her.'
"The situation looks really bleak, huh?"
A soft voice was heard behind from Eleanor. She turned around to find out that she was none other than the saintess of the goddess of life.
Her way of speaking was much calmer and softer than when she was talking with the king. And there was a hint of blush on her cheeks, which made her look even more charming and beautiful.
The hero, Eleanor, was indeed a top-class beauty with a body which could be called near perfect for a woman, but the saintess wasn't behind her at all.
She also possessed an equally remarkable body; even though her slender figure was hidden beneath her clothing, her perfect curves couldn't be hidden at all.
Standing next to each other, it was hard to compare who was more beautiful among the two of them.
"It does seem that way, saintess," Eleanor replied to her.
"I have told you many times to call me by my name, Eleanor. We have known each other for so long and you still address me as saintess."
The saintess said, opening her emerald-like green eyes that were shimmering with a mesmerising beauty; if not for being a girl, even Eleanor would have fallen for this charm.
"I will call you by your name when it's just the two of us. In public, I do not dare to call the saintess by her name, who is also the Elven princess and the strongest healer of the entire world."
"If that's what you want, I will comply with it." The saintess replied.
Eleanor turned to look at the dark army again and was planning a way to stop this war, but she couldn't think of any solution than to fight the dark army today.
The saintess also turned to look at the dark army, unlike others, she wasn't least bit afraid of the dark army.
She had the protection of the goddess of life and also had her mother in the Elven realm who could come here any moment she wanted if she ever needed help. And if not all that, she is also capable enough to stand on her own against the dark army.
'After this war ends, I will finally confess my feelings for Eleanor... at that time, I hope she can accept me. Mother always thought of me as a naive girl; if I could face the demon king today, then she might let me be myself. Then, after that, I will tell her about Eleanor; now, the only thing between Eleanor and me is the demon king.'
Unknown to her, a different fate was getting planned for her.
And the thing that was going to change her plan was riding above a dragon high into the sky.
He was clad in completely dark armour with a huge pair of horns on his head and dark scales covering his entire body. A majestic, deep voice with the most terrifying pressure was heard from above the ground.
"You spineless pig... if you do not wish for me to turn this kingdom of yours to smithereens, come out right now."
It was the demon king.
