If what Su Ming said was true, then wasn't Tang San a dark spirit master? Helping him would undoubtedly put a target on their backs, with potential retaliation from Titled Douluo. Dark spirit masters were universally despised—a lawless group of maniacs. The Dragon and Snake couple had initially hoped to curry favor with Tang San, but now it was clear this battle was out of their league.
Meng Yiran, with a proud look, said, "Thank you, Su Ming." Her interest in him only grew—he'd seemed remarkable enough at their last meeting, but his strength had clearly soared in just one year. Even her grandparents hadn't sensed him acting. Meng Yiran wanted to know more but was too reserved to ask.
The Dragon and Snake couple exchanged a glance and noticed the mutual curiosity between Su Ming and Meng Yiran. They wondered if they might matchmake the two.
Meanwhile, Titan, sitting in a Thunder Academy carriage, couldn't remain seated any longer as he sensed the arrival of Titled Douluo. If it had been Spirit Saints or Spirit Douluo, Flender and the other teachers might have managed. But Titled Douluo? And three of them at that! Titan knew he could at best hold one back. As for the other two? The situation looked grim. Still, he trusted that his master was watching from the shadows and wouldn't let anything happen to his young master.
Porcupinefish Douluo eyed the massive Titan and spoke to his companions, "I'll handle the old ape. The rest of you, focus on Tang San. Kill anyone who gets in the way!"
"Yes, sir!"
Titan transformed into his martial form, Great Strength Gorilla, and charged at Porcupinefish Douluo, whose expression grew tense. Titan was indeed a powerhouse, yet Porcupinefish Douluo wasn't one to back down. Their task was to lure out Tang Hao, giving Chrysanthemum and Ghost Douluo an opportunity to strike.
Battle Commences
Porcupinefish Douluo unleashed his eighth spirit skill, Thunderous Power, lightning sparking from his spear as he charged at Titan with blinding speed. Titan managed a counter with his eighth skill, but his arm was still punctured by the lightning's piercing force.
Meanwhile, without Titan's support, Tang San and his classmates struggled. Qin Ming valiantly defended them, but within seconds, his body was corroded by Porcupinefish Douluo's poison, and the Titled Douluo with the flaming bird martial spirit incinerated him to ashes, leaving nothing behind.
"Qin Ming! No!" Flender's heart broke, helpless as he watched his friend perish.
"Lord Hao Tian! How much longer will you stay hidden?" he cried. If Tang Hao didn't appear soon, they'd all be dead. The tragic loss of Qin Ming seemed inconsequential to the Titled Douluo. Flender's sorrow, however, was momentary. If he truly cared for his students, the last few survivors of Shrek Academy wouldn't have dwindled to so few.
Tang San added his voice, "Father!"
Finally, Tang Hao's Clear Sky Hammer emerged, smashing down toward Porcupinefish Douluo. His thunderous voice rang out, "Well done, Spirit Hall! To kill my son, you drag the innocent into this, too. Ha! Just three Titled Douluo? A snake, a fish, and a bird? Even if that blasted Chrysanthemum and little Ghost were here, I'd still fear no one!"
From afar, Su Ming heard Tang Hao's grandstanding, thinking, Couldn't he just step in earlier? Now he's acting like Spirit Hall is dragging in the innocent? But Qin Ming isn't exactly "innocent," is he? He couldn't muster any sympathy for Qin Ming; those who took sides had to be prepared for the cost.
The Dragon and Snake couple exhaled with relief. Just as Su Ming had said, Spirit Hall showed no mercy toward anyone connected to Tang San. They were glad he had intervened—otherwise, they might have met a similar fate as Qin Ming or Titan, who was severely injured and undergoing healing.
Porcupinefish Douluo laughed aloud, "Tang Hao, do you honestly claim we targeted innocents? That soul master was with your people! What innocent? Anyone can see we haven't killed anyone else here; we've only knocked out the obstructing ones. But this one was Tang San's instructor, no? 'Innocent,' really?"
Spear Douluo, likewise irritated, shouted, "You speak of dragging innocents, but who can compare to you, Tang Hao?"
