Her eyes sparkled with excitement as she skipped ahead, her laughter echoing through the city.
"You're excited," I teased her.
"Of course, i've never been on a picnic before!"
"Really? In all of your years?" I replied nonchalantly.
"Hmph! I'm only twenty you know!" She tried to grab my ear but couldn't reach due to her lack of height. "Lean down a bit," She added.
"Alright, I wasn't thinking straight," I leaned down and she pinched my ear.
"Woah, we're so high up! Uncle is the best!" Kent was having fun with no care in the world but Jen his little sister seemed to still remember me trying to kill Victoria, so her actions were more reserved.
Their stories were rather sad, yet they could still laugh so warmly, I kind of envied them as I didn't know if even my smiles were genuine.
