Chapter 47 - Solomon

After a couple of hours killing monsters relentlessly, I felt a slight pull from my hairband, a sign that Odysseus was done and waiting for me, and since I too had completely unleashed my bottled up rage I decided to get back to him, completely ignoring the wake of destruction I left behind my trail.

When I reached him, he was sitting with Hali talking about how many minters they had killed, but I had completely forgotten this was supposed to be a competition.

"Before you say any number, let me tell I didn't count them."

Hali was a little dejected, but then shrugged and didn't comment.

"Well, seeing how you are completely covered in blood, I doubt we reached your numbers anyway. Let's go kill the boss and destroy the dungeon core."

Thankful for Odysseus quick dismissal and Hali's comprehension, I nodded and started to move back into the tunnels.

"Follow me, I actually reached the boss room while killing those things."

As we made our way through the tunnels, Hali and Odysseus started to wear a shocked expression, I of course, was completely oblivious of this.

I walked on the fallen bodies of the monsters as if it was the most natural thing in the world, blood splattering at my every step and I started to feel a send of accomplishment.

I didn't realise this before, but I truly did destroy everything.

In the background Hali and Odysseus were whispering trying not to get my attention.

"Thank god that flower maniac didn't count, how the fuck did he massacre this poor things?"

"He was in a really bad mood, you do remember the things his family did to him, don't you?"

"Fuck, I'm getting angry again."

She hastened her walk and reached me.

"Di… Klaus, I wanna fight the boss."

I eyed her slightly confused, but decided to let her be.

"Suit yourself, it's behind that door."

Inside the boss room, we found something we weren't really expecting to find. Seeing the type of monster we faced until now, we assumed the boss would be the same, albeit stronger.

We couldn't be further from the truth.

Instead of a 2 meters tall gray skinned monster, we found an Elf, or what I assumed was a dark elf.

My curiosity got the best me and my question flew unbridled.

"Are you an elf or do you belong to a different lineage all together?"

The creature, clearly shocked by my question, raised his brows.

"How can you speak elvish? Aren't you a human?"

"Rude bastard, answering a question with another question. Whatever, Hali do your thing."

She didn't waste a second, as soon as my command was given, waterways erupted from her body and with her sword drawn quickly sprung into action.

Tumultuous aura was running from her sword and she slashed at the dark elf with all her might, only to be met with a wall made out of pure darkness.

I raised a brow, amused by the concept.

If darkness could be harnessed as magic, the same could be told for light.

Then wouldn't I be able to use light magic through the salamander circle?

I buried those questions for a later moment with Merlin and focused on the battle ahead.

"You disgusting wretch! I was having a conversation with that man and you dare interfere?!"

Hali clearly couldn't understand shit and was quick to diss the man.

"Blah blah blah! Eat shit and die! Your race is a disgrace!"

That was uncalled for.

"Hali don't be judgmental now, that was unnecessary."

"Grrr, fine! Fuck! I'm sorry, but you still need to die!"

Much better.

Hali was completely trashing around with the dark elf, so I decided to clean my self with one of the spells along had taught me.

Rain of abundance.

A little white cloud formed on the ceiling covering an area a little bigger than the place Odysseus and I were staying.

"I hope you don't mind a little rain Captain."

"No worries."

As rain started to fall on us and washing the blood of the monsters out of me, an abrupt shift happened on the battlefield.

The elf's eye widened in stupor he created a wall of darkness slamming Hali aside and teleported right in front of me. He immediately knelt with tear in his eye.

"OH MIGHTY DRAGON FORGIVE ME FOR I HAD NOT RECOGNISED YOU!"

"The fuck? I'm not a dragon."

"BUT THAT IS DRACONIC MAGIC! NATURE IS RESPONDING TO YOU!"

I then explain how the spell was indeed given to me by a dragon, but I myself was not.

Hali appeared beside us clearly annoyed.

"What's up? Why is this fool kneeling in front of you?"

The dark elf, which a dark elf was not, started to explain how the world he came from was afflicted by an excruciating drought, their world tree was deeply suffering.

That was why when the dimensional passage opened they started travelling to find solutions. And my spell could very well be a solution, although a temporary one.

"Wait, does this mean these dungeons are fruit of invasion from other world?"

The elf stuttered a second, even if his intentions were pure, his act was indeed that of an invasion.

"You are right… oh blessed by the dragon, please forgive me…"

"Mhhh, how does this work thought? You simply open a portal to another world?"

"No sir blessed… when the Akashic protection around dimensions is weakened, the remnants of Khaos create this dimensional tunnels, although they are unidirectional."

"Meaning we can only be invaded."

"Yes, but! Breaking the Khaos core you will completely block the passage! Of course more passages from higher realms are bound to be created, but you're world should have the time to adapt by that time…"

This news was deeply unsettling. Seeing how the people from this world weren't able to adapt, the future looked grim. This elf was clearly confused by our strength, so he thought there wouldn't be any problems, but there were.

This information… I need to inform the house…

"Well, I can give you the spell, it's not offensive and can only be used for agricultural purposes anyway, but if it's used by a mage that doesn't have the Long spirit formula, they need to be at the 5th circle, but it's not for free."

"What can I offer sir? It doesn't seem you have affinity for darkness… the two of them have, but you almost seem a spirit nature yourself…"

Looking at Odysseus I was honestly shocked, he had affinity for darkness and never used it?

"I can explain, it's extremely hard to find spells related to darkness, let alone create them. I also didn't have a master before…"

"Then it's settled"

I turned back to the elf and made my demand. In exchange for the [rain of abundance] I requested three 2nd circle spells of darkness.

The trade was successfully completed and the elf gave us the Khaos core after finally disappearing.

"We really need to inform them of our findings… this might not be my home anymore, but I was still raised here…"

Odysseus held my hand and nodded smiling.

Hali was also happy with my decision.

"Do you think these tunnels will appear in our dimension as well?"

"Fuck, I hope not, with the strength our world hold I'm scared of what might pop out."

I held the Khaos core in my hand and was ready to destroy it when an unusual yet familiar system panel appears before me.

[absorb it.]

What? Shouldn't I destroy it?

[Dimitris, you should absorb it.]

Who are you? How are you talking through the system?

[It's too soon, now absorb the core.]

How?

[inject your Archana.]

So I did, and as soon as my Archana entered the core, it shattered with a blinding light, causing all of us to close our eyes, but I felt it.

Its energy was filling me.

[!attention! Condition met.

Trait: Babel tower, is being absorbed in a new trait.]

[trait: Key of Solomon, successfully awakened.]

A flood of information exploded in my brain leaving me dazed, but soon enough the pull of the teleport brought us back from the dungeon, in front of Yudher who was waiting for us.

I couldn't resist, I needed healing as soon as possible or I would really collapse.

Garden of illusory flowers.

I put all my Archana in the spell causing the scale to be bigger then intended.

Everyone was shocked by my display, but Odysseus knew better then anyone else, I wouldn't cast a spell like this without a reason.

He rapidly got hold of me.

"Klaus! Are you ok? What can I do?!"

"Why do you keep getting so close to my son?"

My suffering was clearly not enough, I needed to be subjected to petty arguments as well.

"Shut up Yudher. He is the only one who can get close to me."

I then turned to Odysseus who was visibly blushing by my comment.

"I awakened a new trait, it's just… the information is too much, I need some rest."

Odysseus was slightly shocked, to awaken a trait one required specific conditions… this being one of the conditions for me was clearly worrying, but he quickly recovered.

"You heard my man, Yudher. Bring us to your house. Klaus needs some rest."

"Sure."

He didn't seem happy, and that only made me happier. But my brain was really on the verge of exploding, so I just knelt to the ground bringing my self closer to the flowers waiting for the driver and then get back into the house.

A few hours had passed, if there was one thing I didn't miss about modern times, that was traffic.

It took 4 hours for a drive that normally would take 2 at most, but we finally reached our destination.

The main estate of House Damocles, a huge skyscraper under the guise of a bank.

Painful memories starter to resurface in my consciousness, but I was quick to dismiss them. I was a new man now.

Upon entering from a reserved entrance to the estate, what awaited us was the ghastly expression of the maids and a trembling butler.

"Y-young master K-Klaus?!"

"Robert…"

Robert, my personal butler, was the only person inside the entire family who genuinely showed some kind of affection towards me, yet… when I need him the most, he too abandoned me.

"H-h-how?"

"That's not important. Arrange a room for this young lady, she is a most important guest."

At my order, he was quick to get back on his feet.

"Of course young master, what about the young man?"

"He will share my room."

I left no room for negotiations and quickly brought Odysseus with me. These past nights without him had honestly been a nightmare and I would not engage any conversation with the Damocles in a bad mood.

Everyone fell silent.

Odysseus was smiling, Hali didn't even try to hold her laughter which won her a snap fire lily explosion directly in the face.

"Fully worth it."

That was her only comment.

"Either way, call us for dinner."

I need to sleep now.

______________________

As soon as we arrived in my room, which was left clearly untouched, I forced Odysseus to bed and with my human blanket I fell asleep in a heartbeat.

Knock knock knock.

"Young master, the Masters are waiting for you."

I opened my eyes only to find Odysseus still asleep with his face on my chest. Is breathing steady and natural, a sight that easily could heal my soul.

I stoked his hair to wake him up.

"Yes, we'll be there in a second."

Odysseus opened his deep grey eyes, looking at me with expectations.

I leaned in and gave the man what he truly deserved and I knew I too wanted it.

Sealing his lips with mine never felt this genuine, this real.

Soon our tongues were frenetically dancing together, but he stopped me.

"Dimitris, I won't be able to stop if we continue. And we have business now."

I felt a little hurt, but seeing his basically ok fire face and his laboured breath, I was satisfied.

"You're right. We will have time later."

We quickly changed into clothes that were already arranged for us. But this time I could feel something was different.

Seeing Odysseus change in front of me, was awakening something in me I didn't know I had.

"Let's go tell Yudher of our discoveries."

"Odysseus… yes, let's just do that. We need to get back as soon as possible."

We hurriedly left my room and made our way to the dining hall.

Hali waiting for us at the door was donning a black cocktail dress and a huge grinning face. She clearly enjoyed the clothes.

"Let's do this."
