Chapter 222 - Chapter 222: Fireworks Display

"Broadcast live?" one of the Five Elders questioned.

"A grand fireworks display?" another echoed.

"What do you mean?"

For a moment, the entire atmosphere on Cake Island shifted. The Five Elders' faces darkened, while the gathered forces of the World Government—led by Fleet Admiral Hammons William, CP0 elite agents, and members of the Holy Knights—were consumed with alarm and anger. A sense of dread washed over them.

"Fireworks?" Steel Bone Kong muttered.

Realization struck. Steel Bone Kong's expression drastically changed as he looked at Fallen Angel El with horror.

"Don't tell me..."

"What did you do!?" Hammons William, coming to the same conclusion, glared at El with unbridled fury.

But El didn't need to answer. The screen projected by the Den Den Mushi provided all the explanation needed.

"BOOM!!!"

A deafening explosion erupted, shocking everyone present.

"BOOM... BOOM... RUMBLE..."

One after another, massive explosions engulfed Marineford, the Marine Headquarters. Before the horrified eyes of the audience, the proud and majestic bastion of justice was consumed in flames. The fortress collapsed, reduced to rubble. A raging inferno swallowed the once-imposing structure, leaving only a wasteland of fire and smoke.

"Ah... Ah..." someone stammered.

"Marineford..."

"No... this can't be real..."

"It must be a joke, right?"

"Someone, please tell me this isn't happening!"

Watching the destruction unfold on the screen, the forces of the World Government, led by the Five Elders, froze in shock. Beads of cold sweat rolled down their faces. Even Rocks, Roger, and the legendary Silver and Bronze of the Roger Pirates were no exception. Their expressions were painted with disbelief.

No one could fathom it. Marineford, the so-called bastion of justice, had been obliterated in a series of explosions, now reduced to an infernal wasteland.

For an organization like the World Government—an entity that had ruled the world for centuries, standing unchallenged atop the global order—this was unprecedented. For the Marines, the iron fist of the World Government who had reigned over the seas as the undisputed maritime power, this was nothing short of catastrophic. And to make it worse, this destruction was being broadcast live to the entire world.

One could only imagine the ripple effect of this apocalyptic scene, how it would shake the world to its core, eroding faith in the institutions of power.

"Damn it..." one of the Five Elders cursed.

"That bastard—!"

The Five Elders, Steel Bone Kong, and the other World Government leaders trembled with rage.

"The Marine Headquarters... destroyed..." Hammons William's face turned pale as reality sank in. His body trembled, veins bulging with fury. Suddenly, he clutched his chest, his face reddening dangerously.

"Urgh...!!"

His knees buckled, and he collapsed to the ground, coughing up a mouthful of blood.

"Fleet Admiral William—!" a Marine cried out.

The sight of Hammons William spitting blood sent waves of panic through the crowd. But William, seemingly consumed by rage, ignored his condition. His eyes were bloodshot, veins bulging as he glared at El with murderous intent.

"You damned Fallen Angel El, I will never forgive you!!!" he shouted.

"Clack... clack... clack..." The sound of footsteps echoed.

"A warning? Just a warning?" El's voice cut through the tension. The air on Cake Island froze as those words left his mouth.

"Guess what? Will Mary Geoise explode next?" he continued.

"What!?" one of the Five Elders exclaimed.

"You... you planted bombs in the Holy Land too!?" another stammered.

"Do you have any idea what you've done!?"

"Damn you, Fallen Angel!"

Shock rippled through the gathered forces. The thought of Mary Geoise, the heart of World Government power and the residence of the Celestial Dragons, being obliterated sent waves of disbelief and terror across the battlefield. Even the hardened warriors of the World Government, used to chaos and bloodshed, were pale with fear.

"What a crazy bastard...!" The Five Elders' faces were twisted with shock and fury, beads of cold sweat forming on their brows. They had underestimated the Fallen Angel. To think he'd infiltrated Mary Geoise itself, planting explosives under their noses.

And yet, the fear wasn't just for the Celestial Dragons or the countless slaves and Marines stationed there. It was for someone far more important.

That person.

Imu.

The ruler of the Celestial Dragons and the true sovereign of the World Government. While they doubted Imu could be killed by mere explosions, the thought of disturbing their master was enough to chill their blood. Failure to protect the Holy Land could mean not just death but a fate far worse.

"That bastard..." one of them growled.

"He's gone too far this time!"

"You're insane, kid!" Even the seasoned Fleet Admiral Hammons William trembled with rage and fear, his voice cracking.

El simply smiled, leaning casually on his massive glaive.

"Don't even think about trying to warn your people to evacuate," he said, his voice calm but laced with malice. His golden eyes bore into the Five Elders. "Make your decision. Quickly.

"Or would you rather give the entire world a front-row seat to a fireworks display like no other?"

The implication was clear: delay, and Mary Geoise burns.

Tension thickened the air. Even the most battle-hardened warriors on the World Government's side found themselves paralyzed, unable to think beyond the immediate threat.

El's cold smirk only deepened. For all their power and authority, the leaders of the world were now at his mercy.
