"....but, just for the record, you really are beautiful." He added with a wink.
He felt a blush creeping slowly to his face but he shook his head and recomposed himself. "So, how did you do it,even when you knew you were dying, you weren't scared, but humans fear death so how?" He made a show of his hands.
"I know this is a dream. Remember the time I was spinning my hands,I was checking to see if I would feel pain, but I didnt. So i knew it had to be a dream and everything here isn't real."
"Now,that's where you're wrong." He pointed out, placing his hands on his chin. "I could have killed you if I wanted to, even if it was a dream."
The boy raised a brow, "Now, that's a little spooky but, even if that's the case,I still wouldn't be scared. You see,I have programmed my mind not to fear death because it is inevitable. Besides, there's this famous poet that says; Death,be not proud. Death, thou shalt die. I have no idea what that means but one thing I know is that death is an entity and it fears something, something that can kill it. It's weird stuff actually."
A shiver went down the man's spine as he looked at the boy's uninterested face, "why did you do that? Why did you come to that conclusion?"
The boy shook his head and rolled his eyes in annoynace, "duh, its because everyone will die eventually and death in the reality is actually a reward. You're finally able to leave
this godforsaken repetitive world." He completed with a sigh.
"Oh, so you think so too?" The man asked, raising a brow.
"Yes."
"And how would you like to change that?" He bit his lips in contemplation, " I know you might not believe it,but I am actually a god, well, not a full one yet,my true form is still locked away but I have the power to grant you your wish."
"What's the catch?" The boy asked.
"Nothing, really." He replied, "it's just that you're an interesting human, I don't meet a human who can talk to me everyday, so its nice to have a friend."
The boy kept quiet and raised his brow beforehe nodded slowly. "I do know what it feels like to be friendless, so I can relate."
"So,do you agree for a little spice in your boring human repetitive life." The man asked, a small smirk gracing his lips.
He had lingering thoughts that this was a bad thing so he hesitated.
"Oh come on!" The man said groaning, raising his hands in the air. "Whatever I decide to do,its all going to be part if our agreement. I'll just add a little change to your life. That's all." He stretched his hands and gave a big smile.
'A guy who smiles like that would have no bad intentions,' the eight year old boy thought to himself, 'and besides, it would affect me alone if anything goes wrong.' He shook his hand.
The man removed his hands as soon as they shook hands, his eyes seemed to have taken an even brighter shade of red. 'Its impossible,' he assured himself, ' we already signed the deal, if he was one of them, we would not have been able to, since he cannot stand me.' His face carried a look of distaste.
The boy yawned and realized he was feeling sleepy,up to the point that he could barely open his eyes. "What is your name?" He fell as soon as he asked because of how sleepy he was and he didnt even get the call to hear the answer.
"One little thing I forgot to tell you," the man informed the sleeping boy, "you will not remember anything and I will not tell you my name,I believe in anonymity." He snapped his fingers and the boy disappeared.
He walked back to his throne and sat on it,resting his back with a smirk. "Time for the show,I'd like to see what you will do next.." he said to no one.

It was a peaceful time in the space monitoring room. There were people talking about random things that made them happy and they were even sharing coffee.
Joe was laughing hard after listening to his colleague how he explained to his five year old daughter when she asked where babies came from because she just had a younger brother. He turned his chair out of habit and was facing the big screen which was connected to the satellite in space and he saw something moving towards Earth.
"Looks like we'll be having a meteor shower." Fred commented, placing a hand on his shoulder.
"It doesn't look like one," he debunked, moving closer to inspect, "its not a meteor shower, its a….ship?" He replied with confusion.
"That cannot be right, there are no ships in space right now." Fred moved closer to inspect and discovered that it was indeed a ship.
"Sir,someone is trying to hack into our system!" A person behind a computer reported.
"That shouldn't be a problem," Fred assured, "afterall, we have the best hacker in the whole of the earth right here."
"Sir!" The hacker called, " they've gotten in.."
Fred opened his mouth in shock but closed them immediately as he saw what was displayed on the screen. It looked like a crocodile with human features. The eyes were sunken in so deep, you would think there was nothing there. It had fangs protruding from it's mouth, its ears were pointed like one would see in a child's cartoon of an elf. It has human fingers and when guessing the height, it would be estimated at around seven feet tall.
"What sort of sorcery is this?" Joe's asked, shivering on his seat.
"Is this working?" The crocodile man asked, tapping the speaker in his ear.
"Idiot!" Someone shouted in the background. "You're going to damage it," he moved closer and adjusted the object on his neck while complaining. "You know that the human technology is basic and fragile. Any little thing, and its destroyed."
"Oh! I'd totally forgotten about that." He said, hitting his forehead.
"What the hell is going on here?" Joe asked, confusion etched on his face.
"The two creatures faced the camera and began to blink, "I feel like we're forgetting something here." The first one informed.
"Of course, you are." The second replied with a groan. He instantly wore what was supposed to be a smile. "My name is Bea and we are the the Barsts,we are coming to take over your planet or more specifically, something from it." The terrible smile came again. "This is not a drill, prepare yourselves for battle,or more like a slaughter." He blinked a couple of times before speaking. "Well,it looks like that is all there is for now. Dont forget to prepare!"
The screen became dark and everyone in the room felt like they could finally breathe.
"John.." Fred called, "make a call to the UN. This might feel like a dream, but its its not. There are aliens invading the earth?"

"Benjamin!" A woman in her late thirties called her son from the large sitting room. It was Seven A.M,the time for the world news. It was a tradition in their family and she was happy that her son seemed to enjoy it, a lot of kids his age didn't really bother for the news. "Ben!!" She cared again.
The sound of feet defending the stairs could be heard as a boy with braided hair could be seen coming down the stairs with urgency. He immeditely jumped into the chair in a ninja style manner and he switched in the television.
A theme music was playing before his favorite and literally everyone's favorite announcer went on air.
"Good day everyone, welcome to the Happenings World Show. I am Mary Bakere, live to you from England." The newscaster introduced herself. "Today,I have news for the whole world that will definitely strike fear into the hearts of every human." Images of crocodile-like humans were shown on the screen. Shortly after, a video was played for the whole world to see. Mary's face was shown again, terror vivid on it. "The image you've all just seen is a type of alien species that has been identified as Barsts. In the video, they declared war against the human race, for what reason,we do not know."
Mary was on the verge of of tears. "What we do know is that there will be a war and we might not be able to defend ourselves against them. The world government and leaders are working desperately hard in order to make something work out in our favour." She choked on her tears.
"My only advice to you would be the saying that was popular in the seventeenth century. 'Carpe diem quam minimum credit postero.' It means seize the day, trusting as little in the future."
Benjamin's hands began to shake. His mother saw this and expected the reaction he gave. She was terrible herself. She went to hug her son.
His heart was beating really fast in his chest, causing pain in his chest region. His mind was blank as he muttered to himself.
"This is all my fault. I brought this doom on the whole world."
