Damian's POV
Daniel left me in the restroom and went to take his position at the hallway as an usher. I could feel an uneasiness about the way he looked.
He was really angry at the Gray Werewolves, as he should be.
His people were being tortured and murdered in a series of excruciating painful operations, but this was still my mission.
I was here to enact revenge on those who killed my mother and I have to prevent Reuben from exposing my secret if I am to fulfill my revenge plans.
As I wait patiently in the corner of the restroom, my mind casts back to Daniel.
It was my decision to go after Reuben and I dragged Daniel into this situation.
I'm responsible for whatever happens to him, I have to ensure he gets back home safely to his wife and unborn child. My revenge wasn't worth his life.
My thoughts were suddenly interrupted as the restroom door barged open and Reuben hurriedly came in and shut the door as he hurried towards one of the closed toilet doors.
I waited for him to enter into the enclosed space and begin relieving himself.
I knew he wouldn't be able to sense me because Daniel had put a cloaking spell on both of us, to make the Grey Werewolves unable to sense us.
In one swift motion, I opened the door and thrust my hands through the back of his chest and pulled out his heart.
The movement was so swift, he didn't see it coming. I quickly flushed his heart in the toilet and raised up his body to sit on the toilet seat.
I made it seem like he was still using the toilet, at least that would buy us some time and enable Daniel and I to get out of this building before anyone notices.
I quickly washed and sanitized my hands in the wash basin and cleaned off the blood stains that had splashed on me.
I took a deep breath and opened the entrance door of the restroom and went out. I saw a female usher who seemed like she was waiting for someone. I made eye contact with her and I immediately regretted it , I shouldn't have.
"How is he?" She asked me
"Well, he's good, but I think he might have eating something bad", I quickly replied
"Oh, okay… ummm… thanks,"
"I'm supposed to lead him into the meeting room and I was scared that something migh have happened to him", she tells me worriedly.
"Look, he's fine, he will be out soon", I say to her as I hold her shaking hands.
"Thank you", she replies with a smile
"You're welcome", I say to her as I begin to walk away.
"My name is Sarah by the way"… She says to me with a smile
"And mine is Alex, and I'll see you around Sarah", I replied as I turned around to wave to her,
I begin walking down the passage hurriedly until I reach the stairwell. I'm hoping Daniel is at the parking lot by now. I hurry down the stairs and dash through the passage until I reached the entrance door, I slowed down as I reached the entrance and gave the security guys a nod,
"Where are you going?" The muscular bald security asked me
"I just need some fresh air brother",
"I'll be back in a bit", I replied calmly
He gave me a nod of approval and opened the gate for me to pass through
I dashed down the entrance stairs and made a sharp turn to the right and ran towards the parking lot.
"Daniel!!!" I shouted as I approached our black SUV.
"Daniel!!!" I shouted again as I began to look around the parking lot for him.
I took out my phone and called him, but still there was no answer.
"Where the fuck is he ?" I asked myself out loud.
It's only a matter of time before they notice that Reuben is dead and by then this place will be entirely shut down and there will be no way out for us.
I dialed his number again and still there was no reply, I couldn't sit around and wait any longer. Ten minutes have gone by since I've been waiting here.
"Did something happen to him?"
"Did they catch him and figure out what he was doing?"
I need to go back inside, I can't leave Daniel behind. I need to go back inside the building and save him, I say to myself.
I dashed out of the parking lot and sprinted down the long paved way, I slowed down as I reached the corner and started to gently make my way towards the entrance gate. I greeted the security guy on the right, but it wasn't the same guy who I saw when I left. He stopped me as I attempted to enter the building?
"ID please?" He asked as he stared into my eyes
"I just came out from the building to get some air",
"I've already been checked in", I said to him calmly and attempted to enter through the gate.
He stretched out his hands and stopped me again.
"Look, you can't enter inside without showing me the necessary accreditations". He said to me this time with a sterner tone.
I couldn't show him the ID I had with me , I wasn't sure of Daniel's whereabouts, his spell on the card could have worn off by now.
"I don't have my ID on me",
"I left it inside while I was serving the guests". I tell him confidently.
"Then you can't enter", he tells me as he stands in front of my way .
"I need to enter the building",
"I've got work to do and I have to finish my work so I can get paid", I tell him this time with a bit more anger in my voice.
He scoffed and remained unmoved.
I didn't have much time, I was contemplating taking him out, I didn't know what had happened to Daniel, I didn't have much time left.
I curled my fists and got ready to strike, when the muscular bald man stepped out.
"Hey, he's been inside, he's working the event, let him through", he said to his colleague.
