Chapter 18 - The dust walkers

After putting away my diary, one of my subordinates entered, informing me that the preparations to raid the Akari clan were complete. The Akari clan is one of the strongest in the wasteland, having risen to power about 150 years ago. Around that time, the great king of the Sky Islands abandoned his territory to conquer the wasteland. After his victory, he didn't return to the floating islands but instead established his new kingdom in the wasteland, leaving the islands to survivalists. One of the most formidable clans, the Akari, took over that territory, and ever since, there has been constant war over it due to its unique magnetic properties, which are far more powerful and versatile than a normal magnet. With careful manipulation, these properties allow the creation of advanced structures and powerful weapons.

Titans have occasionally tried to seize this territory, but with the overpowered weapons we've developed, we have been able to repel them. I founded my clan, the Dustwalkers, around 18 years ago. We've grown into one of the top three clans, and now we're challenging the Akari for control. They plan to raid several of our bases, which we've rigged to explode since their spies fed them false information. Their strike date is today, as is ours—we're going to take their base while most of their forces are away, making it easier for us to claim their territory.

With preparations set, our force of 10,000 troops and an elite squad with me at the helm departed. Our scouts had identified key weak points in the Akari clan's defenses, and with my rank as one of the strongest survivalists—level 147, capable of shattering mountains with a single punch and splitting seas with a blade—I led the charge.

We made use of the unique magnetic properties of the wasteland to our advantage. By attaching magnets to specific poles, we created powerful magnetic propulsion devices. By setting up strategic magnets, we could attract or repel them to achieve incredible speeds. Our scouts had positioned these around the Akari base, allowing us to approach swiftly. As we sped across the barren landscape, our force hurtling at blinding speed, we finally arrived at the stronghold of the Akari clan, ready to strike.
