Emma's anxiety lingered long after leaving Madam LoRux's residence. She couldn't shake off the feeling that her daughter's life was about to change forever.
As Akira walked to school, she felt a sudden dizziness and glimpsed images of ailing animals and their distraught owners. She shook off the vision and continued to class.
"Hey, Yui! How are you?" Akira asked.
Yui looked worried. "Mochi, my cat, is sick. The doctor says she won't recover. I need to remove her from the animal-themed performance."
Akira's concern deepened. "Oh no, Yui! What's wrong with Mochi?"
Yui shook her head. "The doctor doesn't know. But Akira, doctor said she's going to die."
Akira reassured Yui. "Don't worry, she'll be fine. Let's go remove her name from the list first."
As they approached the teacher's room, Akira encountered a group of students requesting to withdraw their animals from the performance. Each shared stories of their animals falling ill or passing away.
Akira felt a pang of sadness and recalled her earlier vision. "No, it's just my imagination," she thought.
Glancing at her reflection in the teacher's room window, Akira noticed her eyes changing green again. She rushed to the washroom.
Yui followed, concerned. "Akira, what's wrong? Where are you going?"
Akira quickly replied, "I need to use the washroom."
Yui nodded. "Okay, see you after I remove Mochi's name from the list."
As Akira walked, she accidentally collided again with Kaire and stumbled to the floor. Quickly regaining her balance, Akira covered her face with her hair and apologized.
Kaire helped Akira up this time, concern etched on her face "Hey Akira, what's wrong? Why are you hiding your face?"
As soon as she heard Kaire's voice, Akira grasped Kaire's hand and led her to their classroom, seeking a quieter space to discuss her eye changes.
Kaire asked "Akira? What's going on?why your eyes changed colour again"
Akira explained, "I don't know. It started after I heard about the animals for the themed performance. They're either sick or... or dead."
Kaire reassured her, "But my rabbit is fine, Akira. He's healthy."
Relieved, Akira smiled. "That's great to hear, Kaire. I'm happy for you."
Kaire noticed Akira's eyes returning to normal. "Your eyes are back to normal now."
Akira sighed in relief. "Finally."
"But wait, I didn't check this before, but your eyes are purple, Kaire."
