"Speak of the devil." She turns her attention to the counter and signals the duo.
"Kobby." Khay called. Signaling with hand gestures he come over.
After exchanging a few words with the owners. He gladly joined their table. "Hey you three. I see you almost started the party without me."
"Tch…" Khay irritably expressed. "What took you so long?"
"Hehe…Well, I may have over slept a little… Hehe! I'm only here thanks to Tawa. Speaking of, she said she'll drop by. Should be here any minute now."
"Hmmm…" Lilith squirmed in excitement. "The more the merrier!"
As they talked about the people that may and may not be present, a waitress came to serve their table, and was followed by Adjoa with a full plate sized serving of fried full King Chicken.
"On the house!" She set it on the table
The trio made merry and cheered her on.
"You're no party pooper after all." Trilith cheerfully thanked her.
"Thank you." His twin sister politely added.
"Kobby… just make sure they don't kill themselves."
"Aahh…" He sighed. "I'm actually here to let lose … but I'll do what I can." He loosely assured. She stared a black hole into him and… "I was just kidding." He gulped. "Ha-ha." She giggled and left them to the counter.
"Auntie can be scary sometimes." Khay said.
"Are all women like that?" Trilith inquired.
"Maybe, we just might happen to have ours too." Khay expressed trying his best not to be so obvious it was Lilith he was referring to, gesturing in her direction to Trilith.
"What?" she glared at them, almost catching them.
"Nothing!"
"I've known Zizza and Adjoa since my teens, they are like family to me, like a big sis and brother. She's always been like that and I… think it… comes with being a woman. But boy is this chicken huge."
"For a chicken." Khay commented.
"It's the king of chickens!" Trilith blurted out the obvious. "Of course it'll be big."
It sat in the middle of the table, a full chicken; twice the size of a roasted natural pig.
"Just make sure you don't choke on it." Kobby plucked a thigh and it broke off clean in the middle yet still twice as bigger a normal chickens. Certainly bigger than what they're normally used to and he stared at it. "Well, I get what she meant now."
The meat was thick and heavy, for an assorted gourmet type chicken that travelled and feasted on various delicacies, it was just the right kind of weight. Each piece of it was comparable to the overall weight of a well grown natural fowl. The tenderness of it just made it almost dissolve in your mouth as the flavors in it sieved into your taste buds.
"Gaahhh" The teens gasped as it stung them by surprise.
"Is that what she meant by 'make sure they don't kill themselves'?" Khay felt the weight difference as he grabbed a piece.
"I don't know about you guys… but I'm digging in." He had already taken a bite out of an oversized chicken thigh. Not falling behind, Trilith followed suit and so did Lilith. The trio were eagerly chowing down but were behind Kobby. Lilith being the lady she was, took a break as the boys ravaged through the meat, but she wasn't about to be left in the dust when suddenly…
"You guys… at least chew properly."
"If it isn't Han and Lui." Kobby and the duo turned their attention towards Jun brothers.
"Somefin shells me wry gomna nmead a vigger baeble" Khay said stuffed to the full.
"Khay…" She gulped down what she had and laughed softly. "Don't eat and talk."
He gobbled and swallowed. "Something tells me we're gonna need a bigger table."
"You guys here for some night snacks?" Trilith inquired.
"Yeah, but I didn't think we would meet you guys here. Mind if we join?"
"Always welcomed. We should have invited you guys." Lilith said.
"That's alright Lilith. So…" Han Jun analyzed the feast that was set before them.
"Is there some kind of occasion?"
"I don't know about these three but... I'm celebrating my long awaited integration."
"The Mach Stallion huh… What about you three?"
"The godly 5."
"That's our goal."
Khay and Trilith said respectively while still eating their way through.
"Well." Khay banged his hand on his chest. "I wouldn't say that's our goal, but we came to a conclusion, in light of things."
"You two." She laughed silently. "Don't talk with food in your mouth."
"After the history lesson today we were taken by how the Godly 5 helped people; their dedication and their life; so we decided to follow in their shoes."
"You mwean fwood sdeps" Khay corrected, though futile.
"Wow, bold move. To be able to set your goals on such legends, I'm envious. But we won't be left behind." Han replied.
"I told you they wouldn't be left behind." Lilith addressed Khay and Trilith.
"What?! Goddelyk Vyf? You guys learnt of the Godly 5?!"
"Yeah." Lilith replied.
"Then I suggest you brace yourselves, cos it's the professors way of uhmm… congratulating you seniors in the academy." Kobby advised.
"Thus… your last days in the academy are numbered, so just keep your heads up, things will start to pick up speed from now, I can assure you of that."
"I knew something was up!" Han excitingly said.
"Finally!" Khay sighed. "The academy is going to let us go."
"Let them bring whatever they have planned for us, I'm more than ready." Trilith exclaimed.
"You two never seem to pipe down where ever you may find yourselves."
Another voice intruded the conversation. This time, it was Miscovan and standing behind him were Mikado and Tawa.
"Miscovan, Mikado, Tawa, what are you guys doing here?" Khay asked the obvious million dollar question.
"Idiot!" The tavern welcomes everyone, even teachers."
"Elder Sister."
"Kobby, youngsters."
"And we're not on academy grounds. Drop the teacher stuff." Miscovan said.
"Young master, I'm glad you and your friends are enjoying yourselves." Mikado, still in her maid clothes acknowledged the event.
At the counter, Adjoa had noticed the crowd at the table and came over to say hi and so did Zizza and as time went on, the table had become too small for the numbers they had initially set out for.
In light of this, Khay couldn't help but stare at Lilith silently and deeply all the while he had quite the dumbfounded look on his face.
"What!" she eagerly inquired.
"I told you we were going to need a bigger table." He said with a dazed look in his eyes.
She giggled.
