Screams leapt far and wide amidst the students. Reus had fallen to his knees unexpectedly and was helplessly on the ground. Meanwhile, the stallion snorted aggressively and continually blowing air to the ground and blinding the place in a dust storm, the students screamed, panicking as the gigantic horse neighed and lifted its fore legs up and high, paddling as if about to speed away but it stomped the ground without hesitation, the force of the stomp blew the students off their feet; sending them flying into buildings and the surroundings; knocking some of them out cold.
"What's going on? Why is this happening? Master Reus!" Kobby called out but got no reply. He was out cold.
"The stallion never even behaved like this during the time I was hunting it down. It's almost like it has lost its mind." He struggled through the dust storm trying to stay on his feet.
The stallion suddenly with its front legs and lifted itself up high once again but this time around, it took its time. Suddenly anything in their surroundings that could be swayed by the wind began flying towards it; like the center of a whirlpool, it dragged the unconscious students and those conscious and doing their best to stay on their feet; almost into its nostrils until they were saved by teaching staff that were close to the scene.
"Everyone, cover your ears!!" Lilith immediately cautioned the conscious few.
Another staff member quickly arrived at the scene, her figure suggested she was female, she stretched forth her hands outward, crossing each other, she took a deep breath within that second and pulled back her hands to her chest in an x-shape, her hands went down beside her and up over her then she clapped putting her palms together at the center of her chest. A dense glow of white energy shot out from her palm and formed a dome around the scene and pulsed continuously.
Then, a sudden high pitched neigh stretched wide, and well-built structures around fractured, glasses shattered and blood dripped from the ears of some who didn't cover theirs in time and even to those who did. In close proximity than everyone, Kobby resisted the neigh with all his strength as he planted himself into the ground to resist the sound waves that pulsed continually about and threatened to push him away. As soon as the attack was about to end, he clenched his fist with every ounce of his strength left in his body as the gauntlets he wore shattered to the ground revealing a light blue energy that danced around his fist.
Like a samurai ready to perform a quick draw, Kobby assumed the stance as the air around him shivered and the ground at his feet trembled.
"Thoom!". A dent was left in the ground as he took to the skies like a rocket and focused the energy once more channeling it from his torso into his arms. The wind rushed at him, amidst the Mach Stallions raging neighs, it had sighted him and focused its attention on him as he sailed through the wind and down to his target. Lances of air shot at Kobby but he maneuvered around the first, then the second and the third. Having closed the gap, he launched his attack and dove right at the gigantic stallion's neck.
"Flow-Counter Martial Arts: Turtle Shell Dismantling Punch."
He dug his right fist into the stallions' neck region; the force of the collision generated a gust of wind and dust. The students who were covering their ears and hiding their heads took an even lower cover; bracing themselves from the sudden impact. The Mach stallion neighed its last neigh louder than ever and fell with a heavy thud.
Amidst the dissipating dust storm, Kobby could be seen walking towards the lifeless body of the Mach Stallion, and as he got closer it and he laid his hands on it, then, a sphere came out of it, he stretched forth his hand and touched the ball. It was about 8cms in length and diameter; he moved it closer to the dead stallion and the orb sucked the entirety of the beast's body in with whirling swirl.
Other department teachers rushed to the scene to tend to the students, Oueus immediately rushed to his younger brothers' side. "Reus! Reus! Open your eyes. Can you hear me! Reus!"
Reus groaned; he could hear a familiar voice calling his name and slowly he mustered the energy to open his eyes. The incident had now drawn the attention of every teacher from the campus, some to the scene of accident while the rest had converged at a balcony with an uninterrupted view of the situation.
"Poor Reus, it's happened again." Tawa sighed from the balcony.
"At this point, even the dumbest person could tell there's a definite connection somewhere."
"Then this doesn't bode well." Lina, quite skeptical of all this previously had now been proven otherwise.
At the scene of the incident, Oueus along with Miscovan; took Rues to the infirmary.
The somewhat now conscious students starred on in confusion whimpering as if they'd lost their wits; medics rushed over to the severely injured; the unconscious, and had them taken to the infirmary to have their injuries checked. And those that were conscious with bleeding ears were taken care of right then and there. All that were conscious, students, had bleeding from the ear. After there were tended to and healed, lessons had to resume as is.
"Now, now. Look here." Kobby snapped his fingers, drawing the attention of the remaining students as they looked on troubled and distracted.
"I know that look on your faces." A purple orb hovered closely beside him.
"You don't have to look so worried." They looked at him and glanced at their surroundings, their injured mates on stretchers taken to the infirmary, their heads fell and it only took one look to tell they were genuinely worried and somewhat scared.
"Can you blame them?" Mai chipped in. "Something like that would shake them of course."
"So it was you."
"You noticed?"
"How could I not?"
"It was the best I could come up with at the moment, it was shabby work."
"Regardless to say, the damage was reduced thanks to the air barrier. You have my thanks."
"I couldn't just standby, more importantly, Reus…"
"Our beloved teacher has been having those episodes as of late." He sighed. Then "He'll be fine… besides… our infirmary has the best of healers and researchers."
The students starred on at the two. Mai took one look at them and sighed. "You know… there was one time, this idiot and I went hunting a beast that was a bit too much for us to handle, he ended getting beaten almost to death and, I lost an arm." She stretched it out. "But good as new."
"Ehhhhh…" The students broke out into a roaring cheer and murmured amongst themselves.
"Not one of my best moments, ever, we had just started out as adventurers… anyway, what Mai is trying to say is, our teacher is in good hands, so worry not." He smiled broadly assuring the students that remained. They sighed and gently smiled.
"So what was it? What beast beat you up?" Trilith jolted, curious.
"It was a Mad Monkey." Mai said.
"A level 20 Mad Monkey." He added. "Almost gives me shivers still."
"What shivers? This was years ago, we'd definitely wash it clean now though." She scoffed, folded her hands and gave herself a nod of appreciation and a proud broad smile.
"You overconfident….tsk!" he scoffed at her undertone.
"Anyway, back to topic. So we have the core, also known as the beast soul." He grabbed it and tossed it in the air. "Now we can finally proceed to the main event. Watch closely and carefully kids; I can only do this once."
The students now seated on the floor couldn't afford to take their eyes of Kobby, with much eagerness they recorded it into their minds.
Kobby took hold of the core and brought it in front, he starred closely at the orb, then the orb rose to his eye level and stopped there. Kobby continued to stare on closely, then, he sighed and smiled and closed his eyes while he took a deep breath. His demeanor loosened up and he concentrated on the core that was hovering in front of him. Then suddenly, the beast soul began to emit a purple light, and lowered itself to his chest and entered his body as the light intensified greatly. So much so that the students had to shield their eyes. A heavy sigh of relief escaped his lip as he opened his eyes.
"That wasn't so bad." He said, rubbing his hands on his chest.
"And that students, is how Beast Integration is done. You'll learn of other stuffs pertaining to it in your walk as guildons but for today that will be all. Class dismissed."
