Chapter 1 - PROLOGUE - Night of the Blood Moon

2028X AD [Era of Power ] – Vavel Empire, Dolrea.

It happened without warning; the clouds drifted across the sky and over the full moon, the late night workers, guards and guildons of the land went about their night without a care under the embrace of the moons light, just like they'd done all the other nights.

"The moon looks really beautiful tonight." A man in his mid-twenties spoke; he wore a scaly crimson-red uniform. His head; tilted up and looking to the skies; the full moon in its brilliance.

"Yeah." The other guard to his left responded, leaning on the spear he had just planted into the ground for support. "You know, it's almost too peaceful."

"Hey! Hey! Don't jinx us you adrenaline whore!"

"But it is, imagine if something happened you know..." then, there was silence from the other guard, he was quite for a while… then… "Hey, is it just me or is the moon kinda turning red?"

"What?!" the other guard cried out in disbelief, also shifting his attention to the moon.

"Oh, maybe it's the cloud that's passing over, you know, like how if you put a colored film on a source of light, and it just turns to that color?"

"Color Projection?"

"Yeah! That."

The two had now turned their attention to the skies, looking at the moon and waiting for the cloud to pass it by. And as the cloud gleamed over the moon, like pouring water on a ball, the color of blood slowly dyed the moon red with its thickness. "I've seen some weird things happen, but what the…" a red streak of lightning came out of nowhere and struck the tower they were taking watch from.

The clouds quickly formed over the capital city of Vavel at the call of incessant thunder claps and rumbles, as if summoned by that one thunder strike and then, the sky turned red, far and wide then suddenly, it began to rain without warning. The wind blew as if a tornado was suddenly let loose by the gods. It rained so hard the drops of water pierced rooftops and made holes in the ground, thunder rumbled greatly and red flashes of light lit up the skies. Hail began to fall, breaking through, smashing through buildings and injuring many civilians.

The people screamed in response and ran to wherever they could for shelter, the abled and skilled rallied to the rescue of the injured and tend to the wounds of the unfortunate civilians. Then, the rain suddenly became drops of fire and blood, little drops of fire that quickly became larger than raindrops, large enough to decimate entire buildings. And it didn't fail to land on those that dared to show themselves on the streets.

It was a tragic night for the people of Dolrea and one they would remember as the Night of the Red Moon.
