Chapter 30 - The Outer Gods (1/3)

"Any Last words!" Zoey screamed seeing as my injuries were slowing down, she breathed heavily for every blow she lashed out with wasn't simple, each blow aimed to inflict injuries that negated all forms of recovery, which forced me to work extra hard to recover... yes, I was still able to recover from such attacks.

"You're willing to talk now?" I asked lightly, to which her face twisted in rage at the fact I was still so calm. She moved, throwing her killing blow. Since I was out of energy, she was sure I wouldn't recover from this blow.

With a flash, my head flew into the absolute void, with my eyes slowly growing lifeless. Zoey breathed for some time, closing her eyes at the fact that she could finally end this chapter in her life. Now, she could return to earth and tell her mother the good news... but she didn't get that chance as she saw me standing in front of her, not understanding how I was alive.

"Did you really think just because you killed me, I died?" I asked lightly,

Zoey's eye twitched, going mad by this. Indeed, she had won, she had killed me... but I overcame the nothingness my energy was at, allowing me to cast a spell and return to life. Remember, Nothingness was a part of my source.

Zoey exploded, her wrath ending everything around her. This wrath shot towards my verse, forcing me to destroy it quickly. This enraged Zoey, for two reasons. The first reason was that she didn't mean to almost erase that verse, she didn't want the life of an infinite number of lives on her hands, and the second reason was that I stopped her.

"Trying to protect your little harem? You disgusting piece of shit!" Zoey said with disgust

"I don't have a harem," I said to which she sneered, not believing my words... that was until she used her cosmic awareness and realized I wasn't lying.

"You seem happy, you even went as far as changing for them," Zoey said mockingly, although it was clear her rage was only growing.

"You should know more about why I wasn't able to show emotions compared to me. The only reason I fixed it, is because I noticed the problem... something I couldn't do back then." I said calmly,

"Don't try and justify your action. I don't care for the why, not anymore. I just want you gone, so I could return to my life." Zoey said coldly. I looked at her for a moment, before smiling,

"Then go ahead, if there is anyone I would never fight, it's you. I will be right here, awaiting your wrath." I said softly, she looked at my smile for a second...

"Mom would have loved to see that smile." She said before shooting forward, channeling all of her power into one attack, which she launched toward me. I frowned at this attack, for it was sure to destroy the verse behind me... but the attack just disappeared as soon it touched me, without even affecting me.

"What!" She screamed, not liking what her cosmic awareness told her. What did she find out? Well, simple, I was the origin of her powers... meaning her power had only affected me because I allowed it.

"T-this was your power?" Her eyes shook at the realization before she tried to cast off her power, not caring that in doing so she would be killing herself.

"You're so weak," I said softly, disappointment filling my eyes while looking at her. This caused her to pause, her eyes locked on me with burning hatred.

"You give the person you hate most so much control over you, you stood there mocking Lucifer, yet look at yourself? You're chained by your hatred, even after hundreds of years, all you could do was what? Give me more power over you?" I asked while turning to leave

"... Fuck you." She said with tears in her eyes... her power began to fill the void, growing stronger and more complete. I looked over towards her, my eyebrow raising as she seemed to be accepting her power.

"I can never forgive you, I can't... for I'm the only one fighting for her. I'm the only one holding on to her memory. I will not let her fade away and be forgotten." She said, resting her palm over her chest for a second.

"... I will let you live, not out of love, not out of anything but the fact, that my hatred for you would keep her alive. Go ahead and replace her, go ahead and replace me... and destroy them like you destroyed us." She said through hatred,

"Oh... you're a fool," I said softly, looking straight at her source.

"Your mother is alive, all this time you have been rejecting the part of me that created your source. You have been using your mother's other half... now you accepted my part, and it's complete," I said lightly,

"Her source had to come together with mine to birth what you are today, she wasn't normal..." I said lightly, trying to break down her source and understanding my wife's from back then, but that was harder said than done as I kept running into nothingness at every turn.

"You hated me so much that you didn't even think to do a background check on your mother? Why would you choose to empower your enemy over anyone else?" I challenged, looking at her with disappointment as I saw the shock on her face.

"Shut Up! Why do you even care? You killed her!" Saying that, she disappeared, moving faster than I could react. I floated there for some time, lost in deep thought... well, this verse was now safe... now I had to go and sit back... why did I divorce her? That wasn't something I would have done, that's even more so when I only remembered that part when I saw Zoey.

***

What do you call complete nothingness? I mean a state of Nothingness that exists beyond all things, existing beyond the absolute void itself. A state of Nothingness that the word Nothingness holds too much value to describe it.

Be it the DC verse, Dragon Ball verse, or the infinite of other verses out there, this Complete Nothingness existed beyond it all. Like how an author might be all mighty in their story, this is the Nothingness that doesn't simply entrap that story, this was a Nothingness that existed beyond the Darkness where the Mighty Words, 'Let There Be Light' were spoken.

In such a place... well, the word place couldn't be used to describe this place. For place means this is a location, the word place, means that this is in creation... but that wasn't it. But for the sake of our understanding, and the fact no words that could ever be created could do this complete nothingness justice... let's stick with place

"The family reunited," Something... or should I say nothing, said while looking at the small dot of Something, which filled this Nothingness. The Nothingness looked in the Somethingness, filled with boundless verses,

The SCP Verse, Umineko no Naku Koro ni verse, and the list went on. That small dot shockinglt held it all, that small dot shockingly held all that could, couldn't, will, willn't, have, have not, had, and had never, be... and its size was nothing compared to that which wasn't.

But its focus lay mainly on her daughter, and the husband who had dared to divorce her... then again, it's not like he was in control. She would forever reach out to him, but he is fated to forever escape her hold... for that's his nature. For a being that even Boundless existence would fear, to have something she couldn't have... it bugged her.

"It's time my children, go and bring his source to me once more... if you fail, it's okay, we can get married again. This time, I will raise him as a kid, and ensure that our fate is mine to control." She said lightly, followed by a sea of Outer Gods entering the Somethingness, all rushing towards the High School DxD verse.

It could only be with him in a weakened state, so if he almost dies once more, and is forced to reincarnate as a normal person, she could then reunite since he would be too weak to escape her... if by chance they bring him to her, then they could be together,

If the Somethingness was a Code, it would be a bunch of 0s, 1s, and 2s, to infinity. The Complete Nothingness transcended numbers, and the being she loved was an unknown number. A paradox, something that went against the Somethingness, and all rules. This is why he could face something omnipotent, and live... he went against Logic and reason itself, for he wasn't bound by such things.
