In the shadows of a ruined city, Carl stood with his arms crossed, watching Jenna intently. Her usual clueless expression hadn't changed, but there was something different in the air. Their strange little alliance was growing, and despite her ridiculous behavior, Carl couldn't help but admit she had a certain charm. Or maybe it was just the fact that she managed to keep things interesting.
"So, what's the plan?" Carl asked, his voice gruff but curious.
Jenna blinked at him, her brain clearly working hard to string together a coherent thought. Her gang of growling zombies stood behind her, as useless as ever but loyal to the core.
"Well..." Jenna started, her eyes darting around as if searching for an idea. "I think we should... um... keep doing what we're doing?"
Carl raised an eyebrow. "Which is?"
"Hoarding supplies!" Jenna announced triumphantly. "It's working, right? The humans are getting weaker, and we're... well, we're not starving!"
Carl sighed, shaking his head. "Jenna, we're zombies. We don't need supplies. You can't eat canned beans when you don't have a digestive system."
Jenna looked momentarily puzzled, her brow furrowing. "Oh. Right. But... it's still a good plan, right? I mean, we're making it hard for the humans. That's the point!"
Carl stared at her for a long moment. She really didn't get it, did she? But then again, that was part of her odd charm. Her gang growled in the background, probably not understanding a word of the conversation but growling in support anyway.
"Look," Carl said, trying to keep his patience. "We can't rely on just hoarding supplies. The humans will adapt eventually. What we need is something that actually strengthens us. Like those crystals in the human brains."
Jenna's eyes widened. "Crystals? Oh, right! The brain crystals. I totally knew that."
Carl sighed. "Did you, though?"
"Of course!" Jenna said, puffing out her chest. "That's why I've been, um... hoarding. For bait. Yeah, bait for the humans. So we can get their brains and, uh, the crystals inside."
Carl narrowed his eyes. "You're not just making that up right now, are you?"
Jenna blinked. "What? No! I've had this plan all along. Totally."
Carl pinched the bridge of his nose, muttering under his breath. "Fine. Whatever. As long as it works. We'll keep doing this for now, but we need to be smart about it. No more hoarding useless junk, alright?"
Jenna nodded vigorously, her eyes gleaming with newfound determination. "You got it, boss!"
Carl wasn't sure if he was more frustrated or impressed. One thing was for sure, though—working with Jenna was never going to be boring.
