I got dressed in the clothes Kane had laid out for me—his oversized t-shirt, hoodie, and long socks. The outfit was far from glamorous, but it was soft, comfortable, and smelled faintly of him, which both annoyed and comforted me in equal measure. The faint hint of his scent seemed to cling to my skin, and as much as I hated it, I couldn't deny how much my wolf enjoyed it. Traitorous instincts.
After tying my hair into a loose ponytail, I made my way downstairs, determined to keep my distance and my walls firmly up. I spotted him in the kitchen, leaning casually against the counter with a glass of orange juice in his hand.
"Want some?" he asked, his voice deceptively soft as he gestured toward the carton on the counter.
