Leo sat at the edge of his bed, staring blankly at the worn wooden floorboards beneath his feet. The quiet hum of the wind filtered through the crack in the window, carrying with it the scent of moist-soaked earth from the day heat, guided by the night breeze. It was a strange feeling, this moment of solitude, where every thought seemed to swirl around him, as though he were caught in the eye of a storm that his mind couldn't quite escape. His fingers drummed a melody on his knees, the rhythmic tap echoing in the silence of the room.
["My authority affected the curse placed..."]
As he knew he could free the family from the curse he placed on them, almost chilling sensation settling in his chest as he tried to deny them the cure for what they did. Ever since his daughter's death, Leo had been quiet but an inexplicable darkness inside him was filled in the passed till the reaper told him about her bieng in another universe, something he couldn't control but will soon reach some day, something that felt both like a gift if he followed his daughter's way of living.
["They killed her but she is still alive, but I can't figure out if it's right to forgive them cause of there ancestors sins are done."] Leo thinking to himself.
That feeling his having—the small ache in his veins—had felt like a pain , something that had lingered after reincarnation. Yet today, for the first time, there was the faintest whisper that maybe, just maybe, his judgment was clouded by hate and vengeance. What if he knew she would reincarnate, would he forgive them?
["Maybe I see the personality of the father and grandfather. "]
His mind flicked back to the words Karl had just spoken, still echoing in his ears:
["Fine, but just so you know, the Grandmaster will be back along with the master from the front lines by the end of the summer."]
Those words had hit Leo like a challenge —unexpected, powerful, and settling. His father Anthelm Heart and his grandfather Gerbold Heart. The two most powerful figures in his family. Both had been absent from his life for years. The Grandmaster, his grandfather, had left when Leo was still a child, a figure of legend in the family, known for his strength, wisdom, and his unwavering resolve. His father, the Master, had followed suit, disappearing into the front lines of the endless conflicts that tore the kingdom's apart. Leo had never met either of them, but that's what made him wait in anticipation and excitement like getting a new toy to play with.
["What if they changed, will I have to remove the curse? Or let them continue to carry the burden."] Thinking when the kitten jumped on him. Smiling while petting it, ["Wait, I forgot to name this little guy."] Scratching behind it's ear, ["Egil, that sounds good for you."]
["I think I should check out the maps to checkout were the war is happening. After all better knowing more than being that empty and maybe little more of the family."] Leo said as he went to the door and open it.
["Hey, Karl can you get me the book of the geographical map."] Seeing him at the end of hall. Karl runs to the library quickly and brings the map of the continent.
Leo stood over the map, tracing his fingers along its worn edges. His eyes scanned the intricate lines and markings, as if trying to read something hidden in the folds of the parchment.
["See here,"] he said, tapping a point near the top of the map, ["This is where thewar is happening —Lostlefose. It's a city at the edge of sea, each more bizarre than the last. The cobbled streets are said to hum at night, and they party like dwarves, is it because they are neighbours or is it something else."]
He moved his finger southward, his gaze growing more intense.[ "And then, just beyond , lies humans great region. I've heard amazing things about that place—people live in peace cause of there power, covered by the beauty that clings to the mountains and plains. Some say it's a god lives there, well demi-gods, others swear it's the land itself that's alive."]
He paused, his finger hovering over another spot on the map, this one marked with a jagged, red symbol. ["This is where we live, at the edge of the map on a giant island. Still connected to the mythish empire is notorious for its treacherous monsters and the beasts that roam its forests. Even the bravest adventurers have turned back when they heard the howls echoing through the trees. Guess they gave this place to us hoping the family would die, but they are still alive and thriving, something fun was happening here. Guess I'll ask after they cross the ocean."]
Leo's voice grew softer as he continued, his eyes distant, as if he could almost see the lands before him. "And then… here. Kingdom of natheas, land of elves. The heart of the world tree, where the sun and moon energy build up the nature energy that pushes mana all over the world. They say the stars are brighter there in the night, as if the demi-gods themselves are closer. But the real mystery? The city's gates have never been open to outsiders. No one knows why. Maybe there is something hidden there. But the journey there will basically rob all my money if I decide. Elves are so annoying to deal with even when I Met that one."]
He folded the map carefully, tucking it into his drawer.["Each place has its dangers. But also, its answers. Father did build it, but he was nothing but a guide. So who is the big guy that does the creating of universes."]
When his kitten landed on his lap and he petted it as he was thinking while his mind was over loading with thoughts of who is it.
["Arghh, I can't force it. I'll find out sooner or later."]
