Chapter 4 - Ch.04

While I walked throught the gate I was suprised by the view I saw. There was a straight pathway built with pavement with wide enough to support one car.

This pathway was surrounded by a garden with grass which was perfectly trimmed. All in all it looked almost perfect and infront of where I stood. There was a tall sprawling multiple story building with an architecture design similar to the Japanese dojo.

It was so massive that the only thing you could see behind was a tall hill which he was inclined to believe it was the sokyouku hill.

At the entrance I saw a boy in his late teens with messy short black hair sitting on the desk similar to the lady before and I proceeded to approach him. He was clearly dozing off as he was even drooling.

"I have already finished the first part." I said to him as I slammed the paper on his desk which made him jump out his chair.

"Ahhh damn." He said as he seemed to regain some composure but he seemed not to be fully awake. He looked at me groggily. He started to scratch his eyes in order to rid himself of his sleep. He looked inside the desk and pulled out two papers which was attached to each other.

"Fill in your names, age and district of origin." He said as he gave me the pen and the piece of paper and quickly filled in all the information with my name and surname. I also filled the district of my origin, "it's done."

I gave him back the piece of paper and he proceeded to give me what appeared to be a fingerprint tool but was the size of a palm.

"You will place your palm on this object which will analyze your unique reiryoku." I placed my palm on the tool and felt some of my energy being siphoned out of my body. It was not a huge amount but I could still feel the drain.

When I removed my hand the object was glowing a green colour which I had never seen before as the colour of my reiatsu. He took it and stamped it on the paper forming what appeared to be a seal(basing off my naruto knowledge of seals) with a kanji representing my name in the middle of the seal.

He took off the first paper and gave it to me while remaining with the second paper.

"Go and seat on those benches. You will wait for others to finish the first phase of the exam. So that you can take the second phase together." He pointed to me benches which were located on the front side of the door which led into the academy.

* 30 Minutes Later *

I knew the wait was over as I watched the gates being closed signaling what would be the end of the 1st part of exam. I had been extremely boring when I could do nothing but watching people walk in some looked extremely exhausted while for others it was not that bad. I had tried to look into the crowd to see if there was anyone I knew from cannon but I had seen no one.

I could see that our numbers had reduced considerably as before we were almost hundreds but now we appeared to be atleast in the hundreds.

*Swiish

The 1st instructor appeared infront of us with a ton of papers in his hands.

"Congratulation on passing the first phase of the entrance exam." He said with a small smile which soon vanished as it appeared.

"For the next part of the exam you will follow me into an examination room where you will take part in a written test." He said as he looked all over us. This information caused an uproar as many students started to murmur with each other on the unfairness of the exam.

"That's unfair, we are set up for failure."

"How can we pass this sort of exam. We did not have a topic to study."

Ths were the comments flying among the participants and I could understand their frustration. I was not concerned because I knew that the information I got from the show was atleast enough to help me pass the exam.

But for people who were from Rukongai and had no information it was tough exam but he knew that they were trying to reduce the number of students as the academy could not handle this amount of students from Rukongai only. There was also the nobles to be counted who did not participate in this kind of exam but were enrolled immediately.

*Boom

"Shut up." The instructor sternly said as he was surrounded by a purple aura which brought immediate silence to the clearing due to the immense pressure present. It was more powerful than the last time.

It was gone the moment it appeared and it looked like it had the desired effects as the silence was deafening due to the petrification of the students. I myself knew that it would been difficult to move if it was kept for long. I looked at the others to see that the people who had come last were also the one who had started sweating due to the pressure.

"Follow me." He simply said as he turned on his heels and started moving as if nothing had happened. We took long to process what he said but we stood up and followed him.

He led us into a class which was structured in the same way as the univesities in his previous seat.

"Each one take a sit of your choice and you will be given papers to answer. The duration of the exam is 1 hour which will be signified by a sound a bell ringing. If you finish before the designed time, you can submit your work. You are not allowed to open the Booklet before I instruct so. Any attempt to cheating such as looking at your neighbor's paper or talking to each others during the period of exam will be punishable by disqualification from the exam. Other than that you will have to follow the instruction laid out on the first page of the booklet." The instructor said while giving a death stare and bringing out the previous pressure for further intimadation.

It did not take more than 5 minutes for us to take our seats then 2 random shinigami walked into the class carrying two boxes which looked to be full of papers(booklets) and pens attached to them were distributed to everyone.

"You may start now. Good luck." The instructor said and all the hall immediately opened the booklets. The booklet had the first page with exam instructions and the next two pages dedicated to 20 Questions and other thirteen page consisted of answering questions.

I read the questions and found that anyone with a half functioning brain could get 50%. The questions included multiple choice questions such as ' How many Noble House hold the title of Great Noble Families:

a)5

b)4

c)6

d)None

Other questions revolved around personal questions such as what is your reason for joining the Gotei 13. Others described a scenario which put you in a desperate situations and made you choose between personal or professional values.

I guess this was done to get a close up to atleast know how some students think.

I answered the paper with easy as I knew exactly what to say as I made sure to allign my personal goals with those of Gotei 13. The paper was finished in 30 minutes. The questions themselves weren't difficult but what was difficult was the shortage amount of time given to complete the exam.

I was feeling pity for people who knew less than me and I knew they would be unable to achieve the required marks ddd to the time.

I passed the other 30 minutes pretending as if I was still writing the exam.

*Riiiiing

A bell rang which signafied the end of the written exam.

"Pens down." The instructor said but of course some people were not done so they acted as if they didn't hear and continued 's when I saw something I wasn't expecting in an exam in my whole life.

*swiiish

The instructor pulled out his red pen and flash stepped towards every single student who was still writing on the 3 first rows and took their papers. Of course this made other people in last rows tt stop writing and look what was happening.

"To anyone I will catch still writing in the booklet while I am collecting them. He/She will be immediately disqualified and sent back to the rukongai. This people whom I have just collected their papers will have 10 marks deducted from their work." I could see some of the souls despair as I guessed that removing 10 marks would be lethal to their works while other resigned and dropped their pens.

The booklets well collected for the next minutes and rearranged properly on the front desk on the podium. "After this you are going to take a a physical exam which will also be counted in your final results at the end of the day."

*Swiiish

A dark skinned man in his late twenties with short purple hair stopping at his neck level and green eyes. He was perhaps 5'9" and wore a sleeveless shikahushō.

"I am Suzaku Shihōin and 7th Seat in the 2nd Division. You will follow me to the dojo as I will be the one supervising your physical exam." He stated with a mixture of arrogance and annoyance as if the task of supervising the entrance exam was beneath someone of his status.
