Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Basic Taijutsu

In the blink of an eye, the morning had passed.

At the Academy, the curriculum typically consisted of theoretical knowledge in the morning and practical lessons in the afternoon.

Thanks to his adult mindset and the memories of his previous life, Seimei managed to barely keep up with the morning novel theory classes.

As for the afternoon practical classes, as long as they didn't test the Three Basic Jutsu, he could easily get by without raising any suspicions.

Regarding the Three Basic Jutsu, based on his previous memories, they were assessed approximately once a week, while the rest of the time was spent teaching combat knowledge and the use of ninja tools.

Since the last assessment was three days ago, he didn't need to worry about exposing himself for the time being.

As for the next time, four days is enough for him to bring Clone Jutsu to Beginner level. With that foundation, he wouldn't have to worry about the assessment.

Time quickly passed to the afternoon.

On the playground, Sugiki Kazuto looked at the more than thirty students below and said sternly, "Next, I will divide you into groups, and then you will fight each other. You must not stop until I call a halt; even if you are defeated, you must get up and continue fighting. Do you understand?"

Upon hearing this, the students below immediately became noisy.

This was because, in the past, they had fought in groups, with Sugiki Kazuto watching over them and providing feedback and analysis.

Now, not only did they have to fight simultaneously, but they were also not allowed to back down, which had never happened before.

Seimei didn't know what the others were thinking, but he felt a sense of urgency.

Yes, urgency.

According to the norm, this form of combat training would typically occur in the fifth or even sixth grade, but now they were being asked to engage in such training early, clearly advancing the curriculum.

Combined with the current situation in the ninja world, it's not hard to guess that the school intends to have them graduate early.

However, this is quite normal. During peacetime, a six-year program isn't much, but during wartime, when there's a desperate need for manpower on the front lines, the time spent in school will naturally be shortened.

'If "I" remember correctly, Konoha's annual graduation assessments take place from October 7th to 10th.'

After that, the school will send the assessment results to the Elders, and with the Hokage's personal approval, they will be officially registered on October 15th.

Today is September 3rd!

In other words, in about a month at the earliest, he would be forced to graduate.

This made Seimei feel a sense of urgency rising within him.

"Silence!"

Sugiki Kazuto's voice came from above, immediately silencing everyone.

"Next, the students I call will step forward: Hanada Sundo."

At the call, a stout student stepped out.

"Hirai Matsu."

Another student stepped forward.

Sugiki Kazuto looked at the two and said, "You two will be in a group."

"Yes, sensei!"

Hanada Sundo and Hirai Matsu stood together and replied in unison.

"Hmm."

Sugiki Kazuto nodded and continued to call out, "Yamanaka Hana, Aoki Ryuko."

As he continued to call names, the entire class was quickly divided into several small groups.

Seimei was no exception; he was grouped with a civilian ninja named Moriki Tetsu, whose qualifications were decent, and his strength was about the same as Seimei's former self.

But that was the former self; the current Seimei had no confidence in defeating him.

Even though the other boy was only about ten years old, when it came to combat experience, Seimei couldn't compare at all.

After all, his previous school didn't teach him how to fight.

Fortunately, his adult mentality allowed him to remain calm.

Soon, Sugiki Kazuto's voice came again: "Remember, in the upcoming battles, you are not allowed to use weapons."

Hearing this, Seimei quietly breathed a sigh of relief. Although the kunai used for training was not sharpened, being hit in a vital area would still not feel good.

It was just right; he needed to accumulate experience, and if he could avoid a bit of suffering, that would be better. After all, he wasn't a masochist.

That's right, Seimei was already prepared to take some hits.

'I just hope this beating won't be in vain.'

Thinking this in his heart, Seimei opened his panel and took a glance. If his guess was correct, after today, there would be another skill added to his panel.

"Prepare~ Seal of Confrontation!"

Sugiki Kazuto's voice came.

Seimei and Moriki Tetsu simultaneously raised their right hands and formed the Seal of Confrontation.

"Begin!"

As Sugiki Kazuto's command fell, Moriki Tetsu lunged forward, his right fist smashing toward Seimei's face.

Faced with this swift attack, even though Seimei had long been mentally prepared, he was still caught off guard.

However, whether it was due to the influence of his predecessor's memories or the muscle memory of his body, at a critical moment, he surprisingly reacted and narrowly dodged the blow by sidestepping.

Not only that, but almost at the moment he evaded, he instinctively threw a punch toward Moriki Tetsu's side face.

Bang!

Moriki Tetsu raised his right arm to block the hit.

As the two passed each other, Moriki Tetsu pivoted around his left foot, twisting his waist with force and swinging his right leg toward Seimei's head.

'Damn, this little brat is hitting hard!'

Feeling the gust of wind rushing past his ear, Seimei couldn't help but mentally complain.

However, he also understood that this was the nature of Ninja combat: not only being ruthless to oneself but even more so to the enemy. The process of fighting was like dancing on the edge of a blade.

He was still in the adaptation phase; once Sugiki Kazuto allowed them to use weapons, the danger would increase even further.

If he wanted to survive in this chaotic world, he had to adapt to everything as quickly as possible. Otherwise, no matter how useful the Proficiency level panel was, he would ultimately end up being useless.

With this thought, Seimei no longer pondered and shifted all his attention to the memories in his mind and the current battle, absorbing his predecessor's legacy at the fastest speed possible.

Time passed minute by minute, and the battles on the playground continued without pause, with cries of pain occasionally erupting from those who were injured.

However, no matter how tragic their cries were, Sugiki Kazuto did not call for a stop.

During this time, Seimei was also knocked down multiple times.

Although he had the memories of his predecessor, allowing him to handle Moriki Tetsu for a short time, his moves were too rigid, and he quickly fell into a pattern that could be exploited.

As a result, he suffered.

It was unclear whether Moriki Tetsu had a grudge against his predecessor or what, but the intensity of his attacks was brutal. By the end of school, bruises covered Seimei's body.

"Hiss~"

Rubbing his swollen eyes as he walked down the street, Seimei felt little resentment; on the contrary, he wanted to thank him.

The reason was simple: at that moment, a new skill had appeared on his panel—Basic Taijutsu.

"Panel!"

With a thought, Seimei opened the panel.

Immediately, a light blue screen appeared in his field of vision:

[Name: Uchiha Seimei

Age: 10

Physique: 5

Spirit: 7

Chakra: 6 (127)

Bloodline: Sharingan: Unawakened (51/100)

Skills: Chakra Refining Technique: lv0 (2/100)

Clone Jutsu: lv0 (19/100)

Basic Taijutsu: lv0 (35/100)]

It was clear that after just one battle, his Basic Taijutsu had reached lv0 (35/100), surpassing Clone Jutsu and becoming the skill with the fastest fusion progress.

According to Seimei's estimation, his predecessor's skill level was likely only at the beginning of lv1.

In other words, as long as he participated in two or three more battles like this, he would be able to completely merge all of his predecessor's knowledge regarding this skill.

Such progress was also thanks to Moriki Tetsu's harshness, which forced him to respond with all his strength.

Therefore, how could he possibly hold a grudge against him?
