Chapter 84 - Chapter : evil intentions

Deep underground, far from the eyes of gods and men, lay a hidden chamber bathed in an eerie, crimson glow. The very air was thick, oppressive, tainted with the metallic scent of blood and the acrid bite of chemicals. The walls, slick with condensation, bore faint, ancient carvings symbols of power long forgotten by the modern world.

This place was not just a laboratory; it was a slaughterhouse of science, a temple of grotesque experimentation where the lines between progress and horror had long since blurred.

In the distance, a woman screamed.

Her voice, raw from hours perhaps days of torture, echoed through the winding stone corridors. Her cries carried fear, desperation, and the hopelessness of one who knew she would never leave this place alive.

Footsteps rang out in the dimly lit passageway, steady and unhurried.

Rin moved through the halls with a smirk tugging at her lips, the sound of her heels clicking against the stone floor in perfect rhythm with the woman's choked sobs. She held Hans' repaired mask in her hands, the polished surface reflecting the dim red light.

As she walked, she passed Zen, leaning against a pillar, arms crossed over his broad chest. His eyes were dark, brooding. His jaw tightened as she approached, irritation evident in every fiber of his being.

Still angry.

His battle with Josuke had been left unfinished, and it gnawed at him. Tormented him. He had wanted to break that devil-kin, to see the light fade from his eyes. But fate or rather, Hans had interfered.

Rin let out a soft chuckle. "Still sulking?"

Zen scoffed but didn't answer. His silence was enough.

He was seething, and Rin loved it.

Without another word, she walked past him, disappearing into the chamber at the end of the corridor the place where the screams were loudest.

The Experiment

Inside the chamber, Hans stood over a steel examination table, his blood red eyes focused on the woman lying before him.

She was restrained, wrists and ankles bound with enchanted chains. Her body trembled violently, her skin pale and slick with sweat.

But it was her eyes that told the story.

Terror.

Pure, unfiltered, animalistic terror.

Her once-bright irises had turned clouded, her pupils unnaturally dilated as the black veins spreading across her arms and legs pulsed in time with her erratic heartbeat.

Hans adjusted the syringe in his hands, tapping the glass cylinder with two fingers. The thick, viscous liquid inside shimmered, dark as ink, yet alive with a subtle, shifting glow as he injected into in her body.

A serum of his own creation.

A step forward in his divine plan.

Rin entered the room, her expression one of amusement. She leaned against the doorway, watching him with a smirk.

"My dear Hans or rather Lucian… or would you prefer Reyuji?"

The empty syringe slipped from Hans' fingers and shattered against the cold floor.

Silence.

Slowly, he turned, his crimson gaze locking onto Rin's.

The dim light caught his chiseled features, casting sharp shadows across his face. For a moment, he said nothing just stared, the weight of his presence suffocating.

"I see you've repaired my mask," Hans said at last, his voice void of emotion.

He barely looked at it before turning back to the experiment.

"Place it on the table and leave."

Rin smirked. "You don't seem very pleased to see me."

Hans ignored her, picking up another syringe. He gripped the woman's trembling wrist, his fingers unnaturally cold against her burning skin. She let out a whimper, too weak to struggle anymore.

Rin sighed, stepping further into the room. "I've done as you asked. The item is exactly where you wanted it."

Hans paused.

A small smile ghosted his lips. "Good."

From the shadows, two black devils emerged Hant and Mant.

Tiny, twisted creatures, their glowing eyes wide with devotion as they scuttled forward like obedient servants.

"Bring me the stablizing drug. Now," Hans ordered.

The creatures bowed and vanished.

As Hans turned back to his work, he suddenly felt warm hands snake around his waist.

Rin pressed herself against his back, her breath tickling his ear.

"I don't like it when you spend so much time with other women," she whispered, tracing her fingers over his chest.

Hans didn't react.

Instead, he spoke in a tone so cold it could have frozen fire.

"Jealous, are we?"

Rin's grip tightened. "I was your first test subject. Now, you barely acknowledge me." She pouted, pressing herself closer. "It hurts, my love."

Hans let out a quiet chuckle.

"You always were needy as he placed his hands on hers ."

With inhuman speed, he tore her hands away from his body and turned, his blood red eyes flashing.

His fingers wrapped around her throat.

Not gently.

Not playfully.

Possessively.

His grip tightened, his fingers pressing against her pulse. "Do you not understand?" His voice was lower now, dangerous.

Rin's lips parted, her breath hitching.

But there was no fear in her gaze.

Only desire and pleasure as believes she exist only to please him.

"I understand," she whispered, her smile widening despite his crushing grip. "I understand you better than anyone, my love."

Hans' eyes darkened, his smirk widening.

He threw her to the ground.

Rin gasped, but it wasn't a sound of pain.

She shuddered, her breath ragged, her cheeks flushed. Slowly, she crawled to his feet, her fingers trailing up his boots, her expression one of absolute devotion.

Hans turned away from her, running a hand through his snow-white hair.

"Soon…" he said, more to himself than anyone.

Very soon.

Chaos would be mine.

I would rule over creation itself.

His blood eyes glowed under the dim light as he grinned.

"I, Lucian Von Morningstar, son of Lucifer and Lilith, will dethrone the All Father and reshape existence in my image and destroy the mistake he created ."

His laughter echoed through the chamber, resonating with pure madness.

And somewhere in the darkness, the woman on the table stopped screaming.
