Chapter 25 - CHAPTER 25: Rogue devils

The iron-black armored van and bikes pulled into the fortified unit zero base , signaling the end of a successful but tense mission. The team exited the vehicle, weary but alert, as other rangers began transferring the devil-possessed criminals into the holding room—a chamber reinforced with powerful wards that even the strongest devils couldn't breach.

Josuke, Ace, Arthur, Hinata and lily made their way directly to Kyle's office. Inside, Kyle and Maya were deeply engaged in a conversation, with Kyle's desk covered in reports, diagrams, and charts as they tried to make sense of the growing threat posed by the devil-possessed.

"These rogue devils or rather possessed men working together…" Kyle muttered, his brow furrowed. "It goes against everything we know. They don't work together because they hate each other too much, unless…"

Maya finished his thought. "Unless they're commanded by a hive mind or a more powerful devil. And for one with that level of influence to escape the underworld, it's unlikely without us noticing."

A knock interrupted them as the team entered. Kyle and Maya turned to acknowledge the team's arrival.

"Welcome back," Kyle said, nodding to them as Maya moved toward the door, preparing to head to the holding room. She glanced at Lily. "Lily, I'll need your help with the equipment. The devil-possessed criminals are they might show an unusual amount of resistance, and I want to make sure everything's secure."

Lily gave a determined nod and followed Maya out.

With Maya and Lily gone, Kyle turned to the rest of the team. Arthur and Ace reported on the mission's details, and Josuke stepped forward, laying a set of ritual scrolls on Kyle's desk. The scrolls were weathered, etched with strange symbols that pulsed with faint energy.

Kyle examined them, his gaze intent. "These are ritual scrolls likely used to summon or amplify devil energy. Take these to the vault immediately."

He handed the scrolls back to Arthur. "And the rest of you, get some rest. Be prepared for another alert. We don't know how soon we'll need to move."

"Yes, Commander," they all replied in unison.

As they filed out, Arthur cast a look at Josuke, his expression laced with mockery. "A whole year of training, and you still haven't summoned your full bringer? What a waste."

Josuke met his gaze, unfazed but resolute. "Just you wait. I'll show you."

Arthur chuckled, a hint of superiority in his tone. "Yeah, sure you will." He headed off toward the vault with a dismissive wave.

Ace clapped a hand on Josuke's shoulder. "Forget it. Let's get to the training grounds. There's work to do."

Josuke nodded, feeling his determination rekindle. He'd been with Unit Zero for a year, training harder than ever, and though his full bringer had yet to appear, he could feel a growing power within him but for some reason he wasn't able to grab it, he felt that It was waiting for the right moment to awaken as state my Kyle that full bringer sometimes a would be unwilling to come out if the user will is weak.

As they split up, Hinata gave a tired wave and headed to her room, while Josuke and Ace continued to the training grounds. In the distance, Maya and Lily's voices faded as they secured the prisoners. Josuke knew that whatever challenge lay ahead, he would be ready backed by a team stronger than any he could have imagined.
