Chapter 1 - Ch 1: The Boy Awakening

The boy was surprised but did not cry like a child because his soul had transformed; it now resided in a five-year-old who had transmigrated into a room resembling a palace chamber. He was also astonished by the system he had activated, which granted him two abilities named 'Proficiency System' and 'Understanding System,' similar to those in a novel. He could never understand why he had died on Earth, as one moment he was asleep and the next, reborn as a child. However, he knew there would be no benefit in knowing the reason for his death, and he hoped that his parents were fine. He realized that he had been transmigrated into the body of Prince Ashoka. Beside him, the mother of this boy, meaning his mother in this life, named Subhadrangi, who is the chief queen of his father, Emperor Bindusara of the Maurya dynasty, was sleeping. He was surprised to learn that he had become a prince of the vast Mauryan Dynasty. This news did not frighten him, for he had acquired a system that allowed him to understand anything, which promised to make his life more enjoyable. In the past, he was an entrepreneur who enjoyed brief renown but was not widely famous. Now, reincarnated in this ancient world, he was eager to learn everything about it. He could meet Chanakya, the author of the Arthashastra—an ancient Indian treatise on economics, politics, military strategy, law, and governance, which remains one of the most significant works on statecraft and diplomacy. He had the opportunity to meet many distinguished scholars of the time and learn what it was like to be a prince. At dawn, the chief queen, his mother Subhadrangi, was awakened by the chirping of birds. Subhadrangi, her eyes fluttering open as the first light of dawn seeped through the lattice windows, glanced toward her child, already awake and alert. A gentle smile graced her lips, her voice soft yet regal, carrying the weight of a mother's love and a queen's dignity.

"Ah, my little lion, already awake before the sun kisses the sky. It is not often that I find you stirring before the birds sing their morning hymn. What thoughts occupy your young mind so early? The day is yet tender, and you are still but a child, though the blood of kings flows through you."

The training field unfolded before him, alive with motion and clamor. The air resonated with the sharp clang of metal against metal as soldiers engaged with training dummies, their faces slick with sweat under the early light. The earthy scent of soil and leather was pervasive, blending with the subtle smoke drifting from the nearby barracks. Ashoka's pulse raced; the excitement of battle training awakened something deep within him—a sensation both alien and intimate. He proceeded to the training room where his mentor, Senapati (Commander-in-Chief) Bhadrabahu, was teaching soldiers in the arts of warfare, including the use of swords, spears, bows, shields, and maces. He reached the expansive practice field, so vast that a figure at one end would seem minuscule from the other. He often dreamt of wielding a parshu (war axe) in tandem with a sword, inspired by his beloved film, "Bahubali 2: The Conclusion," famed for its thrilling action sequences with swords, maces, parshus, and various armaments.
