Life is really a wonderful thing.... Not long ago, I was just a clerk, wallowing in comfort, wasting my life away, and now I'm on my way to the hero academy I read about in a manga.
- Hey! What the hell are you doing in there?! - shouted Bakugo, who had already moved a decent distance away.
I gave him an annoyed look:
- Watch your mouth, you little snoop.
- What did you say?!
Considering his black eye and the band-aid on his nose, he didn't look so convincing.
He's always like that. Katsuki liked to get in trouble. I even thought he was a masochist sometimes. He's a good guy, though. After all, he's my little brother in this world...
*♪ Whack ♪
Who I could have kicked in the ass!
- You bastard!
I dodged his fist and slapped him in the face:
- Get outta here, you little punk!
- Grrr! - rubbing his bruised head, he could only growl and look at me angrily....
- What are you looking at? Go to the exam or I'll drag you in again.
That's the kind of upbringing you get.
- I'll kill you, Kouji!
- Cry some more.
- Grrr!
That was usually how our arguments ended. Katsuki liked to show his fangs, but he respected me, and we didn't fight that often. But considering that I'd been teaching him wisdom since he was a child, it was understandable. There's no other way to deal with him. Even his mom gets sassy, let alone others. A couple days ago, we got into a fight, and I beat him up pretty good. He still resents me. Considering it happened almost every time he got bruised, he tried to recover and get revenge.
Obviously, he wasn't doing so well, and it wasn't because I was five minutes older than he was, unless you count a couple decades of past life, but because I'd been practicing. Of course, my brother tried to follow my example, but his petulant nature really hindered him. I knew what he would achieve in the future, but right now he was just a regular bullied teenager who couldn't stay still. However, I should give him credit - in recent years he became quite determined and started to study well. Dreams are not an empty sound for him.
My path began long before he wanted to be a hero.... So I was stronger and could take him down.
So I lived, not understanding at all how and why I ended up in this world. As a child, I was overwhelmed with questions, but over time, I simply resigned myself to living my new life calmly, training and preparing for a difficult future.
Having reached the gates of the Yuuei Academy, Katsuki and I exchanged glances.
"Ready?" I asked.
"Heh! You ask? I'll beat everyone there! Including you!" He shouted this and confidently moved forward.
Heh... The answer is in his style. Although, after that skirmish with the mud monster, he became too daring. In recent months, he has trained much harder than in the years before. I think he will show himself worthy.
It might seem that my brother is overly self-confident in his abilities, but his desire to become the best pushed him to train even more. It's commendable, of course, but he wasn't the only one who trained for months... I've been doing it almost since I learned to walk. And Midoriya, apparently, managed to get All Might's quirk. I saw him training on the shore, cleaning up trash. That'll be motivation for my brother...
So it wasn't for nothing that I ignored their "friendship". In reality, I hardly had any contact with this Midoriya at all. And what could I really change besides that? I wasn't interested in this fool, but depriving him of All Might's quirk would have been a big omission. So I stayed away.
I didn't often interfere in my brother's affairs either, we had enough fights at home. So, everything seemed to be going according to the rails of the original plot... Except for my existence.
"Yeah, what a feeling..."
I was a little nervous... That same academy... And soon the events I had been waiting for so long would begin. Although I tried not to influence anything too much, it was obvious to me that this was only until the start of the Academy.
However, it didn't bother me much. I was going to enjoy this life to the fullest and didn't give a damn about any plots.
As for this exam... There won't be any problems. After all, I had the power that could raise me to the top of the world!
The system of quirks.
It worked quite simply. From time to time, sometimes completely unexpectedly and according to a not entirely clear scenario, I was given tasks. For completing them, I received system points, which I could spend in a special store.
Everything was tied to the simple power of thought. Almost like a quirk.
I had to wish, and I could open my status...
Name: Koji Bakugo
Age: 15 years old.
Rank: High School Student
— [Strength: 38] — [Endurance: 31] — [Speed: 14] — [Durability: 20] — [Talent: 100] —
Quirks (1 slot available):
— [Blast Wave] → Development 55%.
Genetic Enhancements:
— DNA Expansion → x1
— Strength Enhancement → x1
— Endurance Enhancement → x1
Available System Points: 30,000.
There was nothing special to note here. Strength is strength. Speed and endurance are also there... Endurance was responsible for how much damage I could take, and it also gave resistance to diseases and poisons.
There was nothing special to say about Talent. It increased the speed of the "Development" of the quirk and my training in everything. It developed over time, only in the last couple of years there were no changes.
I think I reached my limit. It was, of course, possible to surpass it, but I was not very interested in it yet. Even with such talent, I developed my quirk from zero to 55 percent since I was four.
Initially, the Blast Wave was so-so, simple sparks, and sweat was weakly secreted. But I trained hard and achieved great success, surpassing even my brother in this. The thing is that, oddly enough, I did not quite get along with children, being in fact an adult. So, despite the boredom, training and studying were much more interesting, and more useful. Over time, I got involved and spent my time only on this. Of course, I had various hobbies, like studying famous heroes and criminals, for the sake of their quirks, but this is not so important.
