Chereads / Falling For My Stepbrother 1 / Chapter 97 - Chapter 97

Chapter 97 - Chapter 97

Chase's POV

"Chase, please leave me." She said,

It hurt me to hurt her, but seeing her like that was worse.

"I can't, Emma. You don't mean what you're saying." I said to her,

"I sure do, Chase. You're a liar." He spat in my face.

"You can't say that, Lily." I replied to her.

"You didn't just call me 'Lily'?" She puffed, I knew I had made a very silly mistake. my thoughts were in a whirlwind, and I had also lost control of my tongue.

"I'm sorry, Emma. Everything is so mixed up in my head." I apologized.

"Including Lily and I?" She asked in disbelief.

"No, Emma." I said. "I mean, I'm exhausted, I'm tired, I'm so fucking tired."

"That's no reason for you to do that." Her lips were quaking and she looked away, I think I also saw pity in her eyes.

"I'm sorry, Emma. I seem to be making too many mistakes. I'm a mistake, but none of these stops the gnawing feeling in my heart for you. Emma, I've spent lonely nights in this room wishing I didn't do what I did to push you away" I confessed.

"How do I know you mean what you say this time, Chase?" She asked, sniffing. "You seemed so sweet, Chase, so honest, so gentlemanly, little did I know the ocean eyes I stared in while I let you wear that ring on my finger, while i let you fuck me,

was the fucking deep blue sea, should've chose the devil!" Remembering it made it hurt her all the more, and that's not what I meant to happen.

"Emma, how can I make it up to you?" I asked with all sincerity. "And please don't say I leave you, cause you know I can't. And I know you don't mean it either." I said.

"That's the one thing that'd set my life rolling in a separate path, Chase, a good path." She said,

"You don't need someone else, Emma. I'm here, I'm enough for you. There's literally no more surprises after this. I swear." I spluttered.

"Are you messing with me on purpose so I keep running back and hanging on to you?" She asked, looking in my eyes.

"You know that can't be true." I objected

"Chase, every time we talk, it just hurts so bad cause I don't even know what we are, I don't even know where to start. What does my forgiveness mean for you?"

"Emma, that's the one thing that'd make me feel less of the piece of shit I already feel like." I replied.

"Chase, everyone else was cold to me. The world was quite a cold place for me," She started, calmly, she spoke, "but then you showed me warmth. I loved it, looked forward to it, and even relished it, looking back on it with nostalgia when it was over. Now I know that you didn't just save me from out of the cold, Chase, you set up a fire around me. The fire that keeps burning, scalding me. Thongs of this fire made its way into my heart, making it so fucking difficult to take my mind off you. I hate you, I hate my mom, and I hate me. I hate that any of us actually sat and watched this happen."

 "Emma, I'm sorry." I pleaded.

"You wanna guess how many times I've heard that line?" She asked,

"Please don't do that." I begged. "Emma, life would be meaningless without you next to me. I need you, Emma. Your presence is ecstasy. Without you, it's been from one bottle to the other. I don't wanna settle for the ghost of you, I want you, I need you!" There and then, I burst into tears. Raw, hard, hot, scalding tears.

I mourned my mom, I also mourned whatever chances I thought I had of getting back with Emma. I saw the look in her eyes, her mind was made up.

"I have to go." Emma sobbed.

I didn't have to be told twice, I let her go, ready to be cuddled and comforted by my misery in the dark.

I waited, patiently, to hear her footsteps go out the door, but they stopped. I had my heart in my mouth the whole while, hoping she came back to me.

I heard the door open, and I knew that that was really it.

"I can't!" Emma sobbed, turning back into the room.

Immediately, I dragged my pathetic self off the floor and grabbed her.

"You can't do what? Emma?" I asked, hoping I heard right. "

"I fucking love you, Chase!" She wept.

I hugged her so tight, like my life depended on it.

My world might've been a train wreck, but she has just given me a 'one in a million chance' to fix up.

"Thank you, Emma." I said, delirious. "Is there something I can do to stop you from hurting? Emma, I want to fix every wound I ever gave you." I pleaded with her.

"I just need someone who'll stay true to me." She sobbed in my ears.

I lifted the love of my entire life, and sat her on my dressing table, with our faces just inches

"I'm your guy." I swore solemnly. "I swear on the grave of my late mom.

"You didn't have to do that." She says. I saw forever in Emma's eyes, and I'm sure she did in mine.

"I'd do anything to assure you that I mean this, Emma, I mean us." I replied to her.

"Please just sit up." She said instead, "it's your house."

"Baby, please, don't do that." I begged.

"Chase, what do you want from me that I haven't given you already?" She cried again. "What are the odds that you won't go running back if by some stroke of fortune, I decide to give this a second chance, cause we both know this isn't good for me, Chase, you're not my best bet."

I then decided to take the bull by the horns.

I locked eyes with her.

She still looked unsure, uncertain,...sexy.

I took the slippers in her hand out and her purse, and she let me.

I parted Emma's legs, slowly, feeling her gentle skin while I did.

Her heart was visibly pacing already. Her chest was heaving up and down in a rhythm that pushed her breasts out more.

As soon as her legs were split, I pinned her hands to the table top with mine.

There was no time to waste, we were both in the mood.

I traced kisses up her thigh, licking slowly, and letting her skin feel my tongue.

"Chase, I don't wanna." She protested, vainly.

"Yes you do!" I replied, and went in head-on.

 "Arghhh." I heard her moan

 in pleasure.
