Another day began in the Hollow Den, with the aroma of freshly prepared breakfast wafting through the air. The long wooden tables were filled with chatter and laughter, though Safal sat quietly, his mind occupied with the events of the previous day. He glanced at Liza and Alisa, the sisters who had saved him from a terrible mistake, and sighed. Finally, he mustered the courage to speak.
"Hey, Liza, Alisa," Safal began, scratching the back of his head nervously. "Thanks for, uh, you know, saving me yesterday. I didn't mean to lose control like that."
Liza smirked. "Oh, don't mention it, hero. Just doing our duty as the official babysitters of the group."
Alisa chuckled. "Yeah, honestly, Safal, if you're going to explode like that again, at least give us a warning. Maybe we'll bring marshmallows next time."
Safal flushed. "I'm serious! I've been having a hard time controlling my abilities. It's like they have a mind of their own."
Liza's teasing tone softened. "We get it, Safal. It's not easy, but that's why we're here. Besides, we've been in worse situations. Remember, Alisa? The pirates?"
Alisa nodded. "Oh, don't remind me. If it weren't for Varun, we wouldn't even be here to nag you."
"Wait," Safal said, his curiosity piqued. "You never told us the full story about the pirates."
Liza's eyes sparkled with mischief. "Well, it's a long story involving a stolen treasure map, a very angry parrot, and one very heroic master. But we'll save that tale for another time. Right now, let's focus on breakfast. If you don't hurry, you'll miss out on the honey buns."
The conversation shifted as they joined the line for breakfast. The Hollow Den was bustling with activity, with everyone eagerly awaiting their meal. After breakfast, the seven students of Varun gathered around him in the training hall, their eyes filled with anticipation.
Varun stood tall, exuding an aura of authority and wisdom. His deep voice commanded attention as he began. "Today, we will discuss your abilities and how to control them. As you know, the world power is categorized into two types: Land Power and Ocean Power. Though they originate from different sources, they grant similar types of abilities."
Meera, the ever-curious one, raised her hand. "Master, can you explain these powers in more detail?"
Varun nodded. "Of course. The powers fall into three main categories: Augmented Power, Omnikinesis Power, and Ascendance Power. Let's start with Augmented Power, also known as Body Type Power. This power enhances a specific aspect of the human body, such as strength, agility, or endurance, without causing harm or altering its natural state. For example, Arjun here has incredible strength. He could probably lift this entire island if he wanted to."
Arjun grinned and flexed his muscles, earning a round of laughter from the group.
"Next," Varun continued, "is Omnikinesis, or Mind Type Power. This ability allows individuals to control, create, or destroy elements using their mind. Kavya and Dev are excellent examples. Kavya can control fire, while Dev manipulates shadows."
Kavya playfully conjured a small flame in her hand. "And roast marshmallows for Safal's next meltdown," she teased.
Dev smirked, his shadow stretching unnaturally across the floor. "Or make sure he stays in the shade. Wouldn't want him overheating again."
Varun chuckled but maintained his focus. "Finally, we have Ascendance Power, or Transform Type Power. This is the rarest and most unpredictable. It allows the individual to transform into an ancient creature from beyond this realm. Safal, you are an Ascender. Your ability is both a blessing and a challenge, as it requires immense control."
Safal nodded solemnly, determined to master his power.
Their discussion was interrupted by an informant bursting into the ground. "Master Varun! PeaceKeepers have arrived on the island at a village."
Varun's expression darkened. "The PeaceKeepers? It's rare for them to come here. Why are they here for?"
"They're looking for recruits," the informant replied.
Varun's lips curled into a sly smile. "Interesting. We could use someone on the inside to gather information. Let's see who among us is brave enough to volunteer."
The students exchanged nervous glances, unsure of what to do. Suddenly, Ram raised his hand, his expression resolute. The room fell silent, stunned by his boldness.
"I'll do it," Ram said firmly. "I'll join the PeaceKeepers."
Safal was shocked by Ram's words. He tried to convince Ram not to leave his side, that he will protect Ram. But Varun, their master said," Peacekeepers are not our enemy. Those who snatch other freedom are." Safal was silent as he knew Varun was talking about him and didn't utter any words. He said he will also join ram. But Varun stopped Safal because it's rare for Peacekeeper to take an Ascender. You will put ram at more risk. Everyone agreed and supported ram.
Varun's smile widened. "Good. Let's prepare Ram for what lies ahead. The PeaceKeepers won't know what hit them."
As the group dispersed, whispers of excitement and apprehension filled the air. The day had only just begun, and it promised to be unforgettable.
