I couldn't stop staring at the ring on my finger, the emerald sparkling like a tiny piece of magic. It was beautiful—delicate yet bold, just like Magnus said it reminded him of me. My emotions were still all over the place. I hadn't expected anything like this tonight. A proposal? Surrounded by everyone I cared about? Magnus always had a way of surprising me, but this…this was on a whole new level.
I glanced across the garden and saw him chatting with some of his friends. He looked relaxed, happy even, and it made my heart swell. The man I loved—the Lycan King—was mine.
But someone else had a lot to answer for. I turned on my heel, my sights set on Regan, who was lounging with Bella and Chloe under one of the fairy light-covered trees. His grin widened when he saw me approach, but it quickly faltered as I reached out and yanked his ear hard.
