I did my best to ignore Magnus after breakfast, pretending like I was completely unaffected by his presence. I wasn't about to give him the satisfaction of seeing how embarrassed I still was. But even with my efforts to stay calm, one thing was bothering me—where was Owen?
I turned to my mom, who was casually tidying up in the living room. "Where's Owen? I haven't seen him all morning."
She didn't even look up as she responded, "He went out with Regan earlier."
I frowned. "This early? It's not even—"
Before I could finish my sentence, a cushion pillow hit me square in the face. I blinked, shocked, as my mom chuckled. "It's 10 a.m., sweetheart. Not exactly *early* anymore."
My jaw dropped, and I glanced at the clock on the wall, realizing with horror that she was right. It was already mid-morning.
Oh good Lord, help me!
