The moonlight bathed the lake house in an eerie glow as I crept inside silently. They were asleep, completely unaware of my presence. My eyes narrowed at the sight of Magnus holding Aria protectively, her head nestled against his chest. The sight filled me with seething rage. How dare she? How dare she be the one to soften him, to bring him peace when I've suffered in torment?

They could not remain together. Not if I was to have my vengeance.

I stepped closer, my fingers curling around the pouch in my hand. The ancient words of the spell rolled off my tongue in a whisper, the language older than time itself. A faint, dark glow surrounded Magnus as I chanted, his body twitching slightly but not waking.

With the last word, I sprinkled the enchanted powder over him. The air around him seemed to ripple, and I smiled coldly.
