"Let's go for the contract reading and signing. My board members are waiting." Alexis said to Damian, standing up from her seat.
She was completely oblivious to what the man was planning in his mind.
Maybe if she had the slightest idea, she wouldn't let him sign the contract.
"Sure, Miss Sterling." Damian replied and stood up. Alexis nodded and the duo walked to the door.
"After you." Damian said as a gentleman as they got to the door. He waited for Alexis to walk out before following suit.
As they walked to the meeting hall which was on another floor from Alexis' office, Damian seized the opportunity to start a small, informal chat.
"So, tell me, do you still need me for your revenge game against your cheating husband?" Damian asked her.
Alexis, not expecting such question, was surprised but she remained composed.
"No, Mr Blackwood. And point of correction, I never said I needed you for my revenge game. More so, there isn't going to be any game of revenge." She replied him, her voice giving no emotion away.
Damian let out a chuckle.
"Well, you didn't say it in words but you did with your action while kissing me..." Damian was saying, wanting to tease her about the impulsive kiss again to see if her composure would break.
However, Alexis proved him wrong. She faced him, staring at him intently. Then, they had gotten into the elevator.
"You and I would agree that, that can't be classified as a kiss. It barely happened." She interrupted him.
"I think it is." Damian insisted, mischief glinting in his eyes as he held her gaze. He was determined to see her tough facade breaking.
"If you consider that as a kiss then I see why you are still a bachelor." Alexis said, very intentional about her choice of words.
"Oh, so she knows what I am doing and want to do the same to me? Interesting!" Damian said inwardly, tightening his jaw.
"Did I perhaps touch a nerve?" Alexis asked, sounding innocent.
Damian, determined to not give her the upper hand, snorted and shook his head.
"Definitely not." He gritted out and Alexis nodded in satisfaction.
"Now, tell me, why are you still keeping the affair partner around you if you say you are not doing any revenge game." He questioned, sounding genuinely curious.
"Mr Blackwood, I would appreciate it if you can let us stay formal in our interaction with each other, henceforth. That is my private business and what you are doing right now is prying." Alexis maintained sharply.
Before Damian could provide a response, the elevator's door opened and Alexis stepped out gracefully.
"Let's get right to business, Mr Blackwood." Alexis told him firmly.
And without another word, the duo entered the meeting hall where the board members were already waiting.

Work came to an end and Sabrina quickly grabbed her bag rushing out of the company. She was meeting a certain somebody.
"Let's meet." A text that entered her phone earlier, read.
"Aren't you supposed to include where we would be meeting..." Sabrina was saying as she checked her phone for any new message but the screeching of a car interrupted.
She looked up from her phone and realized a car had appeared from nowhere to block her way.
"Holy shit!" Sabrina screamed in shock, almost dropping her phone. The door to the passenger seat flung open at that moment.
"Get in right now before anybody sees." A familiar voice from the driver's seat said to her.
Sabrina, still panting heavily from the shock, looked around discreetly before hopping into the car.
"You can't show up like this and expect our secrets to be safe." Sabrina pointed out, a frown appearing on her face.
"Are you complaining now?" The man asked her as he drove on, sounding irritated.
Sabrina shifted uncomfortably on the seat, rolling her eyes.
"Of course not." She replied, clenching her fists.
"Better." The man said.
"So, just what have you been up to?" He asked her, his voice chiding.
"I have been doing exactly what you asked me to do." She replied the man, tightening her jaw.
"Well, that doesn't seem to be so. How will you do what you need to, when you are on verge of being fired?" He retorted.
"How could you be so careless to get caught?" He added.
Sabrina heaved a deep sigh.
"But at least, I was caught having an affair not caught for the main deal. Isn't that what you care about?" She asked him, raising an eyebrow.
The man scoffed.
"Don't be foolish, woman. How would you get other things done if you get fired from the company for the affair?" He demanded to know, glaring at her.
"It is like you are straying from the main deal, Sabrina. Have you forgotten what is in it for you if we achieve our goal?" He questioned further, this time his voice calmer and a bit patronising.
Sabrina exhaled deeply, the calm voice of the man seemed to be having an effect on her.
"I haven't forgotten anything about our goal. Isn't the affair also part of it? I added it to get access to internal information about the company." She replied.
"I didn't know I would be exposed like that. But don't worry, I think I have things under control. Alexis won't fire me..." Sabrina added.
The man let out a chuckle.
"Or she is yet to? Sabrina, don't be fooled. The Alexis we know is planning something for you, something that will break you." He informed her.
At that statement, Sabrina felt a shiver down a spine.
"I know but I have plans too." She said.
"Which are?" The man inquired.
"I have a leverage against the husband. Which is going to work on the wife too. I am certain that as long as blood still runs in her veins, Alexis isn't going to fire me when I play on her emotions." Sabrina said confidently. The man furrowed his eyebrows in confusion.
"Tell me more." He urged her, sounding impatient.
"Right now, Evan thinks I am carrying his baby. So gullible!" Sabrina said, a smirk making its way onto her face.
