Chapter 3 - Damn Serious

"You heard me right." The voice boomed again. It was Alexis' angry voice. She was seething furiously.

Evan was shocked by the statement and he quickly let go of Sabrina's hold.

"Lexi, this is not what you think it is, trust me. Let me explain." Evan said, his voice persuading and desperate.

"Oh, Is that so? Are you then going to explain what it is? Are you going to tell me that thing is the reason you have stopped being the man I used to know, in the house lately?" Alexis retorted.

"Well, I am not a thing." Sabrina muttered more to herself, rolling her eyes dramatically. She wanted to say more but a glare from Evan kept her shut.

"What did that bitch just say?" Alexis asked, clenching her fists.

"Lexi, you have to ..." Evan was saying but Alexis interrupted him before he could finish his sentence.

"I want a divorce, Evan!" Alexis maintained sharply, her chest heaving up and down with fury.

"At least hear me out first. Divorce is not something you can just talk about without any tangible reason." Evan protested, his voice rising.

Alexis scoffed in annoyance.

"Are you telling me this is not a tangible reason?" Alexis asked pointing between the duo. At that, her eyes caught the earrings on Sabrina and the frown on her face got deeper. They were in the jewelry box she saw with the ring and note.

"I have my evidence against you, Evan. I am going to divorce you and nobody or anything can change my mind." Alexis yelled.

Evan's eyes widened in shock at the mention of evidence and his face fell. Then, his voice became low.

"Lexi darling, please let's calm down and talk this out." Evan began pleading and Sabrina huffed in disapproval, rolling her eyes.

"Stop calling my name, you low cheat! And just so you know, you are not going to get anything out of this divorce, other than pain and regret. I will make you regret ever thinking of cheating on me." Alexis snapped at him furiously.

Evan was dumbfounded. He couldn't say another word and Alexis shook her head in disappointment.

"I wish he would at least maintain he is not having an affair. But he can't even deny it." Alexis thought to herself, feeling angrier.

That was the man she had handed everything to, all in the name of love. She handed over her company, her status, her honor, her heart and life to him completely.

So getting betrayed by him like that hurt her so much.

"I curse the day I met you. I should have known that nothing would be enough for you. You are insatiable!" Alexis slammed at him, clenching her fists tightly till she could feel pain.

She wanted to walk out of the room but as an afterthought, stopped and faced Sabrina.

"Remove those earrings and hand them to me this instant." Alexis yelled, glaring at Sabrina. If looks could kill, Sabrina would definitely be six feet under, already.

"Excuse me?" Sabrina blurted out. She was taken aback by the request.

"That is an order, you cheap thing. Those things are bought with my money so remove them right now and give them to me. Including the ring!" Alexis maintained, her voice stern and cold.

"What?" Sabrina shrieked. The reaction gladdened Alexis' mind and she let out a chuckle.

"Oh, you didn't know that all he has been buying for you is with my money?" Alexis asked rhetorically, a sinister smirk on her face.

"Alexis, please stop!" Evan gritted out, feeling insulted. However, Alexis didn't bother to reply him, her focus was on Sabrina.

"Are you going to take them off by yourself or you would prefer I help you with that?" Alexis snapped at the woman who seemed too shocked to react.

"And trust me, if I should help you with it, you are going to lose many things, such as that cheap dress you have on." She added, her voice low and dangerous.

After saying that, Alexis started to approach Sabrina menacingly and the latter couldn't help but shiver in fear.

"Are you just going to stand there and not..." Sabrina was whispering to Evan but the latter shook his head firmly, communicating to her to comply with Alexis' order.

With fidgeting hands, Sabrina quickly removed the earrings and ring and dropped them in Alexis' opened palm that was stretched out, before her.

"That is better for you!" Alexis scoffed and without thinking twice, she walked to the office's window and threw the jewelries out angrily.

Sabrina's mouth parted widely at the action while Evan tightened his jaw.

Satisfied by her action at that moment and not knowing what else to do as revenge, Alexis decided to leave the office.

"Lexi, wait!" Evan yelled after his enraged wife who didn't even do as if she heard him.

 ~~~~~~~~~~~~
As Alexis walked out blinded by rage, she bumped into a hard chest.
"Hey, easy there!" A deep, alluring voice said to Alexis. The latter looked up and saw an ocean blue eyes staring down at her, due to the height difference. The man towered over Alexis, standing at six feet three inches while Alexis was only five feet five inches.
"Are you okay?" The man inquired, looking at her with concern in his eyes.
For a moment, Alexis couldn't find her voice. Firstly, it was the anger that was making her speechless, then the attractive strange man with the alluring voice she was seeing before her was doing something to render her speechless.
After staring at him for a second, an idea suddenly germinated in Alexis' mind.
"Now, there is no going back. I am going to get my revenge." Alexis thought to herself, a smirk spreading across her lips.
And without saying a word to the man, she pulled the man by his tie and locked her lips on his, in a fierce kiss that was devoid of any romance in the actual sense.
As their lips met, Alexis heard a gasp behind her.
