The tension hung thick in the air as Harris and Zeke stared at Greg wide eyes. Their expression a mix of disbelief and resentment.
His face as expressionless as ever exuded an air of authority. Is that even possible?, can he do that?
Sammy stood in a corner, eyes wide with shock and confusion. Everyone's eyes were fixed on Greg, once a symbol of success and family legacy, now felt oppressive with Greg's unchecked power.
Greg took a galant walk towards Harris's seat, a smug smile playing on his lips. "Harris, I've tolerated your disobedience and lack of commitment for far too long. This past few days, You come and go as you please, undermining my authority."
Harris framed portrait on the wall seemed to cast a disapproving gaze on the unfolding scene. Zeke glanced at his older brother, anxiety etched on his face.
"I don't know what you hope to achieve m But you should know, I've been managing this company for years, and the employees respect my leadership. You can't just...," Harris argued, trying to salvage his reputation.
Greg waved dismissively, "Your so-called leadership has led to inefficiencies. Your employees are lazy, can't even present a damn business plan. I've received complaints about your erratic schedule and lack of dedication. It's time for a change. "
"Effective immediately, Harris, you're relieved of your duties. Your disobedience and lack of commitment have no place in this company," Greg declared with an air of finality.
Harris could no longer contain his disbelief. Zeke had had enough. Slamming his hand on the desk he stood up." You have no right whatsoever to fire my brother. Just three days of working here, you want to change everything. you gold digger!. We are going no where!" His voice became fierce
Greg turned a disdainful gaze toward the younger brother. "Stay out of this, Zeke. It's none of your concern. Your brother's actions reflect on the entire company, and we can't tolerate insubordination."
Harris, his pride wounded, clenched his fists but held back his emotions. "Uncle Greg, you can't just fire me without any valid reason. This is my father's company too!"
Greg chuckled condescendingly. "Your father entrusted me with the role of CEO, and I have the authority to make decisions. You can't question my authority. Security will escort you out. Leave! before I have to call them."
Harris stood, aghast, as his security personnel loomed in the background.
As Harris left the room, his steps heavy with betrayal, the once familial atmosphere in the office disintegrated into an uncomfortable silence. Zeke, torn between loyalty and helplessness, could only watch as his family's company became a battleground for power and pride.

**Hospital Room**
The doctor strolled into the room with a smile on his face, and a clipboard in hand.
"Mr. Gideon, good news for you. You're on track for discharge this evening," he announced adjusting his glasses, his eyes conveying genuine warmth.
Gideon exchanged a glance with Beth, relief washing over them. "You mean we're escaping this joint?" he joked, attempting to lighten the mood.
The doctor chuckled, "Indeed, Mr. Gideon, but don't forget, a diligent nurse will be assigned to keep an eye on you post-discharge."
"I hope she's as pleasant as you doc." Gideon chuckled lightly
The doctor winked, "I'll put in a good word for you." He efficiently placed equipment to monitor Gideon's vitals. "Just a few more checks," he reassured. Handing Gideon some vitamins, he continued, "Keep these handy. Now, I've got some paperwork for you to sign. Don't worry; it's just the boring stuff." With that, he concluded. Do have a pleasant day. He left the room, leaving Gideon and Beth with a mix of relief and anticipation for the evening

**Veronica's Visit**
A gentle knock echoed through the room.
Beth wrinkled her face. "You're supposed to be resting Gideon. Don't tell me you're expecting another visitor"
"Of course not. Aside from your sons and Greg. No one knows am here" Gideon assured her. The knock came again.
"Damn. Taking a long breath, Beth spoke at last. Come in" She invited the visitor inside, silently hoping it wasn't Greg.
The door swung open to reveal a tall figure with flawless skin and enchanting green eyes. She wore a bright smile. "Hello everyone"
"Oh my Gosh. Veronica Peters. Beth beamed. What a pleasant surprise. Veronica, did Harris bring you along?" Beth inquired, her eyes brightening at the sight of a familiar face.
Veronica's eyes dimmed slightly, "Unfortunately, I haven't seen him since my return three days ago. Mr. Gideon am sorry am late" She settled beside Gideon on the bed, genuine concern etched on her features as she explained her visit. I only found out about your illness today. As a good daughter-in-law, I had to come and check on you." She placed her hand on his forehead
Gideon, always the appreciative father-in-law, smiled warmly, "I've been discharged, my dear. Leaving soon, but your visit warms my heart."
"So Ronnie, how have things been over at the green-city?" Beth asked her
Veronica, with a mix of affection and anxiety, began sharing her recent endeavors, hoping to impress her in-laws. "As soon as I graduated, I began handling my parents' company abroad," she proudly mentioned, and planning to start my own." Gideon was impressed with Veronica, and couldn't fathom why Harris wasn't interested in marrying her.
"That's nice, am proud of you. Harris won't..."
"Speaking of Harris, hope he isn't seeing anyone?" Veronica cut Beth off
"No. Of course not. He has been single for long. Since you left him. Gideon assured her. I think you should go see him."
"Great"
"I think we should leave. Beth spoke. I'll call the driver"
"Don't worry. I can drive you home." Veronica intervened
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah, I drove here. C'mon let's pack up" The trio left the hospital, Veronica taking the wheel, leaving Beth pondering the unspoken dynamics at play.

**Harris's Mansion**
Ezekiel had been ranting for minutes now. His voice echoed through the spacious room, a blend of frustration and concern. "Don't tell me you're going to leave like that? You're the manager, for God's sake. You can't be fired for no reason. You can't quit, okay?"
Harris, perched on a stool, his mind immersed in deep thoughts, planning strategic ways, seemed to be a world away. He lifted his gaze to meet Ezekiel's eyes.
"I...err...what were you saying?" He stammered
"You weren't listening? Look we need to do something about that old geezer who thinks he could use us to get rich" his face wore a fierce look
"Don't worry, bro. I'll talk to Father."
"Not about speaking to him. You can't just leave. Uncle can't do as he wishes. You've run that company for five good years." Ezekiel's voice resonated with a brotherly concern.
Harris, the weight of responsibility etched on his face, pondered for a moment before responding. "We need a plan, something that ensures we expose Uncle Gregory's true intentions and take back what's rightfully ours."
Before they could delve deeper into their strategy, a sudden knock disrupted the intensity of the moment.
"I'll get it" Ezekiel swung open the door, revealing a striking figure with captivating green eyes....
