Chapter 124
The moment he did so, it made all the disturbances disappear as Rachel finally took a deep breath before she looked at him. "So, what potion did you make this time that upset the time stream so much?" But all she got was a sly smile from Gray as he said, "I don't wanna tell you, but I will tell you for a single tiny favor." He made Rachel sigh as she looked at him, frowning before she turned around and said, "Never mind, keep your secrets. Anyways, can we go back? This is already the third demigod-grade potion you have. Aren't you tired from constantly creating potion after potion?" But before he could answer, she cut him off as she said, "Never mind, you would probably create potions for eternity if given the chance. Anyways, let's go and collect some materials. You're out of them," she said, which Gray obliged, and they both exited Pangea.
They appeared in a particular situation. On one side stood Richter Belmont, Maria, Tera, Annette, and a white-haired man with pale skin and a long sword—he was a vampire. Next to him was an old man who was also a Belmont. On the opposite side were armies of vampires, leading them was a succubus-like vampire, and the most striking was a particularly powerful vampire. She had a blood-red hue, her hair long and resembling a lion's mane. She was extremely tall. Her attire had changed, featuring a massive black cape with a bright yellow collar, a blue upper section with dark yellow outlines, and a white lower part centered with a gold medallion. Notably, she wore a metallic bra that left her midriff exposed.
"Well, now we look like party poopers," Gray said as he looked around before glancing at Richter. "Hey, whip boy, what did we miss?" he asked, plainly disregarding the giant vampire woman. But she didn't do the same as she said, "Your blood. It's so… pure." She took a step forward while looking at Rachel, who was observing, which got Gray's attention. "Holy shit, you are tall. Wait, are you the Light Devourer or what is it? The ah… ah—" "The Vampire Messiah," Maria finished his sentence. "Yeah, thanks, pretty—" However, a single glare from Rachel stopped him mid-sentence, making him cough before saying, "Goldie Locks is what I was going to say." He was about to explain, but that was when the succubus interrupted, yelling, "The disrespect towards my mistress!" She fumed with anger, making Gray say, "Oh, mistress, where is your wife? You know, it's always the pretty girls that cheat. Why is that? Do they have some sort of superiority complex or something?"
This sentence alone baffled everyone present, both people and monsters, leaving them too stunned to speak, which further made Rachel facepalm—even laugh. Gray then added, "If you cheat on me, I will burn down the very fabric of reality and make your life a living hell." But when Gray said this, he did so with absolute seriousness, which made the Vampire Messiah chuckle in amusement. "Amusing indeed. Drolta, make his death painless for amusing me for a moment. Although it's a pity, he does have a nice face and hair," she said as Drolta smiled, brandishing her fangs. "With pleasure," she said as she sprinted toward Gray. The old man and the vampire on Richter's side were about to attack as well, only to be stopped by Richter, who said, "He is stronger than he looks." And that was true, as Gray did something unexpected. He extended his finger and drew a wide circle like Maria did when she summoned monsters, and if Maria's surprised reaction was anything to go by, Gray was summoning a creature. The moment Drolta was about to reach Gray, a golden circle appeared between them as a hairy, bestial arm collided with Drolta's hand, creating a shockwave.
Drolta skidded back across the stone floor, her boots scraping against the ground as she caught herself just before reaching the feet of her vampire messiah. Her crimson eyes narrowed as she lifted her gaze, watching the summoning circle ahead pulse with ominous energy. A deep, guttural growl echoed through the chamber as something stepped forth—a monstrous entity that was both draconic and demonic in nature.
It was a towering, muscular beast with a powerful, broad-chested body covered in a mix of fur and reptilian scales. Its color pattern of black, white, and brown formed a natural camouflage, its presence exuding an overwhelming aura of raw power. The creature's head was distinctly dragon-like, adorned with two massive, jagged horns that curved backward like a ram's, while piercing, glowing eyes locked onto Drolta with primal aggression. A thick mane of fur ran down its neck and shoulders, emphasizing its intimidating frame.
Its long, sinewy arms ended in massive, clawed hands capable of rending through steel, and its legs, built for both speed and brute force, were tipped with cloven hooves reinforced by additional spurs. The beast's whip-like tail, ridged with sharp, plated segments, lashed at the ground, carving deep scars into the stone. It radiated nothing but physical dominance.
The vampire messiah regarded the creature with mild interest, her expression unreadable. "Interesting," she mused, tilting her head slightly.
Gray, standing to the side, smirked as he placed a hand on his hip. "I know, right? It's my first time testing out summoning creatures from who knows where." He turned toward Maria, his tone smug. "See? I told you I'd be able to summon creatures." He continued mumbling to himself, reveling in his success, while Maria remained too stunned to respond. Gray clapped his hands together. "Rachel, chairs for the audience, please."
Rachel gave him a glare before sighing, then smirked. "Well, it's better than watching you brew potions for several days straight." With a flick of her wrist, she conjured up a set of elegant light-based chairs for every human, and, of course, the white-haired vampire. He hesitated, looking around awkwardly, but seeing Maria, Richter, Tera, Anette, and even Julius Belmont, the old man himself, taking their seats, he did the same.
Meanwhile, the vampires on the messiah's side fumed with rage, their expressions twisting in barely contained frustration. But they dared not make a move. All eyes returned to the battlefield, where Drolta and the summoned beast squared off.
Drolta wasted no time. Her fingers elongated, black nails hardening into knife-like talons. In a flash, she lunged forward, her speed a blur as she raked her claws toward the creature's throat. But the beast reacted instantly, its massive arm swinging upward to block. Her claws carved deep into its scaled forearm, but instead of flinching, it retaliated with a backhand swipe. Drolta twisted her body midair, her wings extending from her back and morphing into jagged, bladed protrusions. She swung them like twin scythes, forcing the beast to jump back. Its tail whipped forward, aiming to slam into her midsection, but Drolta rolled to the side, narrowly avoiding the attack.
