The alarm blared for it's user to wake up"ugh" was the first thing he said.He woke up with heavy eyes and was annoyed that the weekend was over. He got up from the bed and started to prepare for work.
Jack Scott was your typical average male he was in his late twenties and was quite handsome, but he was someone who whose views of life was negative. For him life was boring that there was nothing more it could offer to him or anyone he could think of.
Jack dressed up in his uniform for work , he was a police officer by profession. A detective to say . His phone rang as he got ready for work, he picked up his phone and answered the call. "Hello". "I see another murder huh, I'm on my way". He hung up the call and hurriedly left the house, got into his car and zoomed off to the location that only he knows.
People gathered round the dead body that laid there trying put together what happened last night in their neighborhood. Jack arrived some minutes later with the his team of police officers. "This is the third one this month" one of police officers said "yeah your right but let's get people to leave this place" said Godwin. The people were sent away by the police men. When people were no longer around the area they began their investigation.
At the murder scene there were two dead bodies both with stab wounds. Jack decided to look into the past to see what happened. Jack was born with special eyes right from day one and could see things that an ordinary could not see. He once saw a ghost looking figure walk past him when he was a little kid and he could also see events that had happened in the past. Back to the present time, he saw what happened last night in the neighborhood. Turns out there was a bar that was very close and now the two friends were drunk but Jack wasn't convinced about his own theory of what happened last night he decided to go into the bar to see what really happened. "Transport the bodies to the mogue for an autopsy". "Yes sir !" Said one of the police men. And jack took a walk to the bar where the incident happened.
The Bar was a small one that everyone knew around the area. It was known to be a small quiet place people who came to drink.the shop wasn't open yet but this didn't bother Jack as he looked around for clues and while he looked around he discovered broken bottle's in on the floor "ah i see so they stabbed each other before leaving the bar, but why?." Jack asked himself this question before he decided to ask questions about the bar but decided to do that later in the day because he needs to write a report of what happened and his findings. Jack returned to where his team were and said to them " alright,clean this place up and then we head back to the station."
"Yes sir!" There all responded immediately.
Back at the station Jack looked over his desk as saw a pile of documents all related to the murder cases over the past two years most were just the typical accidental murders and robberies. Jack gave a thought about his life and why he studied criminology in the university and becoming a detective. Lost in his thoughts Jack came back to reality when he heard his telephone ring, he answered and it was his boss he wanted him in his . Putting down the phone he said to himself "why does he want to see me , I hate it when he calls me ." Jack proceeded to the office of his boss. Jack knocked at the door of his and he heard a response "it's open" Jack walked into the office "you wanted to see me is there a problem?" Jack asked as he looked at the pile office file's on the desk that have been unattended for some time "yeah I wanted to ask you about the murder case that you were informed of today " his boss said. Jack replied "It's just the typical bar fight nothing really special" . "Is that so" his boss said as stood up to light his cigarette "look we need to solve and close these cases, the mayor has been on my ass because them it's taking a toll me " he said.
Jack in thought said "how's that my problem" . Jack said to his boss "don't worry we'll try our best to solve these cases".
"Yeah I know you will " his boss said to him as he puffed away his cigarette.
Jack left his bosses office and Wondered about these mysterious cases as there cases of murder and they were increasing every week. Godwin being determined decided to solve the reason behind these mysterious cases.
Looking at the time Jack decided to head as he was done for the day . As he drove back home he admired the the city's bright light and talked about how beautiful it was but he sighed as soon as he reminded himself about the murders happing almost every week with no reason as to why they keep happening. Jack got home exited his car but, his neighbor called him from behind "hey jack how are you?" It was his neighbor her name was Sophia she had just moved into the neighborhood a few months ago and was living right next to Jack. She wore this beautiful smile that heal anyone from their depression or sadness ."am good just a bit of hassle there and there but am good" Jack said as he was moving closer to Sophia to see that beautiful smile of hers because it healed his soul. "Ok but don't stress yourself too much ok? "Sophia replied as she was heading back inside. "She's so beautiful" Jack said as went into his own house . Once inside Jack headed straight for the fridge were he took a can of beer . It was always his routine to take one every Monday, which to him was the worst day of the as he couldn't get enough of these murders that has happened over the past few weeks and why they were happing even with his powers he could only see as much his ability allowed him to see "what if I missed something that I couldn't see" Jack said to himself as drank his "just what if?" He said to himself as pondered on the possibility of missing something that happened even before the fight "I'll worry about that later but for let me drink a watch a movie."
It was dark and cold a place he had never seen himself "where am I ?" Jack asked himself as he tried to make sense of the place he's in. "He's here". Jack heard a faint voice from the distance "hurry before we miss him another voice cried out". "Who?" Jack asked then a human looking figure walked up to him . This figure had no face but dressed elegantly like he was a noble of some sort. Then more human figures appeared. Jack was taken aback, scared but yet remained calm then he asked "who are you people?" "Do you not know us lord?" One of the human figures asked. "Who? Me am not a lord and I don't know who you all are" Jack said as he taken aback by that statement. Then the first figure that appeared to Jack "do not worry my lord soon you will come to understand and all of this". With this statement Jack woke from his sleep he stood from his bed and looked at the time it 6:30 am . Jack was taken aback by this dream wondering what it meant why they called him lord "it's just dream don't think too much of it" Jack said as he stood up from his bed and headed straight for the kitchen to make breakfast and prepare for the day.
