Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: The wormhole

As I moved closer to the light, a surge of energy enveloped me, pulling me deeper into the swirling mist of the wormhole. Colors flickered and twisted around me, vibrant and disorienting. I felt weightless, like I was caught in a storm with no solid ground beneath my feet.

"Kiara," my father's voice resonated through the void, familiar yet distant, sending a shiver down my spine. "You must listen carefully."

"Father? Where are you?" I called out, my voice trembling as the mist swirled around me. I realized I was in the wormhole, a bridge between my world and Earth, and it both terrified and exhilarated me.

"I left a piece of my spirit to relay this news to you," he explained, his tone serious. "You are in a place that connects our worlds. I sent you here for a reason."

The weight of his sacrifice pressed down on me. "But what about my mother? Why did you send her to the abyss?" My voice quivered, fear creeping in.

"I had no choice," he said, a deep sadness lacing his words. "Your mother was in danger. I sent her away to keep you both safe. I never wanted to lose her, but it was the only way."

Images of my mother flickered in my mind—her laughter, her warmth. Would I ever see her again? The thought was suffocating. I felt a wave of despair wash over me, making it hard to breathe.

"Kiara, you carry my love," my father urged, breaking through my spiraling thoughts. "The ring you hold is a means of protection. It can guide you, but you must stay strong. Trust in yourself."

As I floated deeper into the wormhole, shadows danced around me—whispers of those who had traveled this path before. I felt their hopes and fears intertwining with my own, urging me forward. I was not alone in this journey, even if my path was uncertain.

"Follow the light," my father instructed, and I turned my gaze to a radiant beam piercing through the mist. It pulsed with life, promising something beyond my understanding. I felt a swell of determination rise within me. This journey was not merely an escape; it was a quest to reclaim my identity and discover my place in a world teetering on the brink of collapse.

With a deep breath, I propelled myself toward the light. The whispers crescendoed, swirling around me in a symphony of encouragement. I closed my eyes, ready to embrace whatever awaited me on the other side of this vast, mysterious gateway.
