Eve immediately drove to the restaurant where Rebecca was last seen, and upon entering the said restaurant, without second thought at all, she fearlessly grabbed the collar of the manager, which made the other employees gasp, "W-wait there, miss, please let go our manager." A trembling young man stood up and tried to stop Eve from grabbing the old man's collar.
"What did you do to her?" She asked with her firm and full of worry voice. "Calm down, Miss," said the manager. He gently tapped Eve's hand; it took her a few seconds to come to her senses, which also made her swallow the lump in her throat and slowly loosen the grip from her hands until she finally let go and stepped aback.
She can't imagine what worst things might have happened to her only friend. Her emotions ate her up; that's why she acted that way, but she couldn't bring herself to apologize to any of them—for God only knows if they were also part of Rebecca's disappearance.
"It's the Miss phone and bag; she was with the young lord, Winston Aldine, and Becker's house, young Miss Ara, last night, but there was a commotion," said the manager, and he handed Rebecca's phone and bag to Eve.
"The f*ck Winston and that d*mn wench want to Ca?" Eve retorted with a hint of worries and anger. "Where is she then? Did she leave with them? And what commotion?" she asked—with her patience that's running out.
"Miss Ara was found unconscious in the bathroom with your friend, the young Miss. Young Lord Winston Aldine then carried Miss Becker and walked out here, and since they rented the place, we only had a few employees present at that time and no other customers, and no one aside from the two of them entered the ladies comfort room, we also forgot about the young Miss. When one of the janitresses checked the bathroom, only her things were found. We then thought she had already left and forgot these; and this morning we tried to contact Mr. Aldine in order for him to pick up these, but we couldn't reach him. That's why we contacted you, but... " The manager paused and looked at Eve; he somehow looked afraid.
"But what?" Eve asked, with her heart that's beating so fast, afraid of the managers next words, "When we checked the CCTV, your friend was also unconcious and was carried by an unknown man; they used the back exit; that's why no one saw them. Another reason why we contacted you was to confirm if you know that man before we file a report to the authority—"Report, that f*cker! "Eve didn't let the manager finish his words before answering him.
She then stormed out of the restaurant and drove her car to the Aldines mansion, and within just a few minutes she reached her destination.
A furious Eve, nonstoply pressing the doorbell of the enormous golden gate of the Aldines.
After a few seconds, a man in full black suit and white gloves showed up in front of her, and, without opening the enormous gate, he stood there in between the metal bars and said with his poker face, "May I know your business with the Aldine's House, Miss?" "Bring your f*cking master here." Eve retorted with gritting teeth. "I'm afraid I won't be able to assist you unless you state your business, name, and the name of the person who approved it," he says nonchantly without any expression showing in his face.
Eve furiously grabbed the metal bars and forced her body closer to the cold metal bars, and with her glaring eyes, she said, "Bring your f*cking master named Winston here. Now." The man was slightly taken aback with Eve's action but immediately composed himself again before answering Eve, "I apologize, but I can't do that; may you have a good—" The man got startled when Eve kicked the gate with all her might, which left an unpleasant sound that for sure echoed inside the Aldines residence.
"Miss! If you don't stop doing that, I'll have no choice but to call the security," said the man in front of her, but Eve gave him a smirk before kicking the gate again.
"I said. Bring that f*cker named Winston! or show where Rebecca is, agghh, you bastards, why you all never stop harassing her!" Eve, who continuously kicked the golden gate, kept on shouting Rebecca's name.
The man then dialed his walkie-talkie to stop her, "Security, Secu—" But before the security can even respond, a black sedan suddenly stops in front of Eve; she then automatically stops from what she's doing and immediately wipes the tears that had formed in the corner of her eyes.
And when the tinted window rolls down, a woman with red hair, sunglasses, and a lollipops candy stuck in her mouth says, "You Eve?" confused, but Eve still nodded to her while trying to figure out who she is.
"Look, I'm not a bad guy; get inside, and I'll bring you to your friend." She unlocked the door and raised her eyebrows. "Rebecca is waiting; hop on," she continued.
Although Eve doesn't fully trust her, she still steps forward and opens the door. It's not really an ideal decision, but this is her only clue to find Rebecca.
"I fight back," she straightforwardly said upon sitting in the back seat. "Just saying, in case you're planning to kidnap me," she continued without blinking and looking the woman in the eyes using the rear view mirror. The red-haired woman hysterically laughed with her right hand tapping the steering wheel.
"That was a good one, ha," she says. After almost a minute of laughing, she finally stopped and wiped the tears that formed in the corner of her eyes. "I'm not joking here, girlie," Eve responded. "Sure, sure, and by the way, I'm not a girlie; my name is Teal," she answered. "It so much...makes sense," Eve sarcastically says while nodding and looking on top of her red hair.
Teal laughed again, and the nonsensial conversation between the two continued throughout their journey towards Rebecca.
On the other hand, the man earlier was left stunned by what just happened in a flash; he came back to reality after the couple impatient horns of a metallic grey BMW i8 Concours d'Elegance Edition in front of the enormous gate. He then nervously—manually open the gate even though it can be automatically opened on it's own.
"Apologize, young master." He bowed forty-five degrees. "What are you doing there?" Winston's cold, stern voice greeted the staff, who, until that moment, had remained bowed. "Just a little disturbance, young master; however, it has now been resolved."
A bead of sweat was slowly forming on his forehead while he struggled to remain composed. "What disturbance?" Winston asked while still sitting inside his car. "A woman a while ago was asking for you, young master," the staff explained, which made Winston sighed.
He then rested the back of his head in his seat. "Just ignore them; go on," he says while massaging the side of his head. "B-but young master," the staff hesitated a while ago, but in the end he decided to tell Winston what happened—feeling a little bit guilty for Eve.
"What?" Winston irritatedly answered, which sent chills down to his spine, "The woman kept calling to the young mistress— I mean, Miss Rebecca—" "Where is she?" Winston cut him off, "She hopped on the black sedan awhile ago and go that way; they shouldn't be far—"
Without second thought at all, Winston pulled his car in reverse and pressed the gas. His car stretchedly left marks in the road as signed; it was forcefully made to turn and was unbelievably moving so fast.
And one thing is for sure at that moment: Rebecca made Winston's heart skip a beat.
