The white light faded, and Char, not pausing to be startled, hurriedly checked on the safety of the Star Worms, but he didn't dare to shout loudly—who knew if that would attract the attention of the giant bird high above?
So he could only lower his voice and call out anxiously.
"Star Treasure! Are you guys alright?"
In the darkness, the voices of the Star Worms came through individually, and Char's lifted heart suddenly dropped back down. Then he heard an angry cry fading away, and even the flashes and booms in the sky seemed much quieter.
It appeared that as the unknown giant bird flew away, the thunder also receded with it.
Char suddenly let out a breath of relief, the long exhale particularly audible in the darkness, only now becoming aware that he had been holding his breath until then.
