Jonathan's House (7:58 AM, October 3rd)
"Huh?" - His brown eyes snapped open.
It was as if a fog filled his bathroom, as everything seemed blurry. He couldn't concentrate due to the chaotic state of his mind, but a metallic smell filled the room and his nostrils.
What's going on? My head hurts - his hand went to his head.
Still confused, he tried to stand up, but his desire didn't match his body, and his legs gave out first, finally, his mind seemed to return slowly.
That metallic smell. - The realization came as his vision normalized.
Once more, he stood up, even with weakness in his legs, it seemed like a success, that his will would be done, however, he found himself on the floor again.
"Damn it, why do I feel like... My body is heavier?"
Finally, after several attempts, he was standing and his mind was in place, recalling the memories of what had happened yesterday, in order to remember the reason for his situation.
The mirror... There was something in it. - His eyes slowly turned to the mirror.
Against all his fears, at that moment there was only the reflection of his own face, and searching for what he had seen the other day, his eyes noticed the time on his watch.
"Crap, I'm late."
In a hurry, he looked for his towel and headed to the shower. For a moment, the sound of water could be heard, but instead of the calming, hot water falling, it was cold water like a frozen river.
"Damn, I'm sure I turned it to hot."
With his eyes closed, his hand went to the faucet trying to turn it to hot, but when he turned the knob, he realized it was already on hot.
"What? Seriously, a plumbing problem now."
CBU Building (9:27 AM, October 3rd)
"Hey, Johnny, what happened? You're not usually late." - Albert asked, holding a cup of coffee.
"It's true, it's just that my dad... He passed away yesterday."
"Really? My condolences." - At the same time as he spoke, he patted Jonathan on the shoulder.
"Thanks, Albe..." - His sentence was cut off, his eyes wide.
The figure of a being shrouded in darkness emerged from behind Albert's back, its mouth opened, as if it were ready to devour him, and on impulse, he pushed Albert to the ground.
"Why did you do that, Johnny?" - rising from the ground, clearly irritated.
"Get away, Albert! Something is trying to get you." - His words were spoken, his eyes still fixed.
"What are you talking about?"
Even frustrated, he noticed his friend's terrified look, without even understanding his own eyes, he found himself looking at the same place, however, the only thing he could see was the intern, apparently frightened by what had happened in front of her.
"Albert, can't you see it?" - The words came out muffled, but conveyed his feeling of fear.
"See what? Johnny, are you crazy?" - Albert's response was mixed with his frustration and irritation.
"I'm not, there's really something there." - He still looked at the intern, fear in his eyes.
"Stop it." - Despite trying to hide it, his anger at the scene was overflowing.
Holding him by the shoulder, Jonathan finally noticed the stress on his friend's face and the anger that had already surpassed the other feelings, it being the first time seeing Albert like that.
"Albert?" - Now the fear of his own acquaintance took hold of him.
"Enough! You knocked me to the ground and now you're not making any sense." - His sentence had no caution anymore.
"But..." - Finally realizing what he had actually done.
"But nothing, get back to normal!"
Without even noticing, everyone in the office was watching that scene, and as if by magic, Albert jumped on Jonathan after the intern left.
"I'm sorry, Johnny, I don't know what came over me."
"It's okay, I think I exaggerated too, throwing you to the ground." - A forced smile appeared on his face.
"Look, it's coffee break time."
Walking back to their work cubicles, Albert stopped on the way and Jonathan turned to his friend.
"What's wrong, Albert?"
"I'm feeling a bit sick... Glup... Glup..." - Blood began to ooze from his mouth.
"Albert!!!"
Losing the strength of his body, as the world turned into a huge buzz, suddenly, "Thud" he was on the ground and Jonathan was trying to help his friend, with other employees calling for an ambulance.
