Chapter - 91
The next morning, Jacob stirred awake, the warmth of the bed and the lingering haze of sleep urging him to linger a little longer. His eyes stayed closed as he turned onto his side, reaching out instinctively. He expected to find the warm presence of Althea beside him. Instead, his hand found only empty sheets.
He frowned slightly, his fingers brushing over the spot as if searching for an explanation. Still not opening his eyes, he let his hand roam for a moment before a soft sigh escaped his lips.
'Probably woke up early and went downstairs,' Jacob thought, sinking onto his back. He stretched his arms lazily, his muscles loosening with the motion, and let out a yawn that filled the room with a momentary echo of peace.
"Breakfast's ready, Mr. Jacob. Everyone's waiting for you downstairs."
