There was some time left before the final fight, and Jacob was resting in a small chamber tucked away in the coliseum's labyrinthine halls. His hand and torso were wrapped in clean white bandages. A healer had tended to his injuries, wrapping his wounds with expert precision before offering him a potent elixir.
"You'll be good as new for the next fight," the healer had said confidently before departing, leaving Jacob alone to gather his strength. Though most of the pain had subsided, a dull ache remained—a reminder of just how hard-fought the previous battle had been.
Jacob leaned back against the stone wall, his fingers absently tracing the revolver at his side. He'd been given an hour before the next fight. It wasn't much time, but it was enough for him to gather his thoughts.
