Jacob hesitated, unsure of how to respond to Althea's request for dinner. He couldn't help but feel there was something more to her invitation than a simple meal. But before he could find a reason to decline, she continued, a playful glint in her eyes.
"I've already informed Seraphina and Elara, so they wouldn't mind." The mention of his lovers made Jacob cough lightly, his composure slipping as he realized that Althea had preempted his concerns.

A carriage was waiting at the side of the road, the driver already in position as Jacob and Althea climbed in. Jacob had been to Althea's estate before, during his recovery from the temple mission.
