Chapter - 86
Jacob navigated the dense forest with a determined, albeit weary, stride. It took him three long, grueling days to stumble upon a village, a discovery that felt like sheer luck given his injuries. Normally, surviving the wilderness would have been second nature for him, but his battered body reminded him with every step that this time was different.
The village was small and quiet, nestled within a clearing surrounded by towering oaks. The locals, simple folk with kind hearts, didn't ask many questions when Jacob limped into view. He spent the better part of a day resting there, receiving whatever healing and aid the village healer could provide. While not a complete cure, the healer's efforts were enough to mend the worst of his wounds and put him back on his feet.
The following morning, Jacob met with the village leader, handing over a few gold orins as thanks. In return, the leader gave him detailed directions to the nearest city—Redcliffe.
