Obelia was woken up by Pansy and Daphne talking about touring the halls, she glanced at the clock in the dorm and realized it was 6:15 am.
'I think Draco told me to meet him in the common room at 6:30 to go to breakfast' Obelia thought for a moment, she didn't want to leave the comfort of the bed but also didn't want to starve or get lost the first day, and she eventually got up to get ready.
Daphne and Pansy glanced at Obelia, who had been staring at herself in the mirror for 3 minutes, motionless. Pansy snapped her fingers and Obelia turned to her in shock.
"What's wrong?" Obelia asked, turning to Pansy for a few seconds, but Pansy remained quiet, and she quickly turned back to the mirror. She started at herself for another minute before doing a twirl.
'I don't like being in Slytherin, but the uniforms are pretty cute.'

Draco and Obelia made their way to the Great Hall and both were spotted by Goyler and Crabbe. Obelia spotted them and wanted to turn back around, but Draco managed to grab her cloak hem before she got the chance and was placed near them.
"I heard first-years have trouble finding classes, we should all stick together to not get lost." Crabbe turned to Goyler as he spoke, and Goyler nodded in agreement, but neither noticed Draco and Obelia rolling their eyes.
'You just don't want to go alone' Obelia thought while looking at the plain bread in front of her. 'Together? I'd rather find it on my own' Draco thought before reaching for a spoon.
Obelia's eyes later landed on Harry Potter, who surprisingly made it to breakfast on time, watching him gasp for air alongside Ron.
"I don't understand, why meddle with a Weasley?" Draco said, spotting the two as well. Obelia turned and gave him a look, "Now that I think about it, why are you meddling with me?" She glanced confused, she wanted to believe it was because of her family, but at the same time, her family wasn't exactly the best to be with. Then again, Draco's family wasn't the best either.
"My father thinks we would make quite a pair, and asked me to take care of you," Draco said with pride, acting like he had been given a quest by some important figure.
"So you're like…my babysitter?" Obelia gave Draco a look and slowly moved away from him. She had no plans to be watched over since it made her extremely uncomfortable and uneasy.
"…I guess you could say it that way" Draco paused for a few moments before continuing to eat his food, he also wanted to know why he was babysitting, since he only received a basic answer. He later decided to ask his father again, hopefully for a fast response.

"Why in the world are these stairs so long? At this rate, my asthma may kick in." Obelia looked at Goyler, Crabbe, and Draco who all turned around to see her far behind.
"We are almost there, I can feel it!" Draco repeated for the 4th time, and Obelia could do nothing but roll her eyes. 'At this rate, I'm going to die…' Obelia looked over the stairs to see the floor far below them, debating if it was that important to make it to class.
She noticed the upperclassmen chuckling at them and decided enough was enough, looking up at the three ahead. "I think I know a way to find the class…it's a little bit dangerous though." Obelia pulled out four purple marbles. "I got these while traveling, if we think about where we want to go and crack them they should work," Obelia said before handing them to Draco, Goyler, and Crabbe.
Goyler and Crabbe both looked at the small marble in their hand, glancing at each other and looking up at Draco. Obelia noticed and explained further, "It's dangerous because if you can't focus on a single place, you will split, I forgot all the downsides but that's the main reason." Obelia glanced at the uneasy looks of the three and looked at her marble.
'I would tell them I made them super careful to avoid such danger, but I need to be cautious.' Obelia always wanted to talk to someone about her latest inventions but knew the cons outweighed the pros. If others knew she was trying to create magic devices for squid's to use people would be uneasy.
Since she is a squib, she uses other forms to use magic and trap it. Squibs didn't have enough magic to cast spells, however, they could still use magic items, and she knew how to make them. The only downside was having to have extensive knowledge, and not telling anyone. If people found out she could take others' magic, harness it, and contain it, who could know the dangers?
She took one last look at the other three and smiled to try and comfort them."See you in Transfiguration Class!" Obelia shoved the marble in her mouth and a loud crack could be heard. She fade quickly, almost in an instant, leaving nothing behind but small purple lights scattered around.
Draco quickly followed to not be left behind, while Goyler and Crabbe looked at the vanishing figures and mustered up the courage to do the same.

Obelia, who was teleported instantly to the class, opens the large doors to see a tabby cat in front of the table. She glanced at the Ravenclaw and Slytherin groups before walking up to the desk.
'I… want to pet the cat... Should I?"
"This cat is so cute!" Obelia petted the tabby cat in front of her with a smile. The Ravenclaw and Slytherin students began to have sweat beads on their foreheads, glancing at one another.
"Is she out of her mind?" One said, and another followed with, "Did the others not warn her?" The seniors in each house would often warn the first years about things they shouldn't do, and touching the tabby cat on the first day… was one of them.
If Draco was around he would try to stop her, but after taking the purple marble he felt very dizzy, by the time Draco arrived it was already too late, all he could see was Obelia carrying a cat and petting it gently.
"Look I found a really cute cat, it's so soft!" Obelia set the cat down on the desk to drag Draco near the cat, however, Draco was frozen in front of the door and his eyes started to widen. Obelia noticed and turned back around to the desk, only to see the one and only Transfiguration Professor.
"Oh Professor McGonagall, you just missed it! There was a cute cat on your desk!" Obelia began to describe the tabby in great detail and explain how soft and cute it was as the professor stood there in shock.
"You…just sit down…" Professor McGonagall didn't know what to do with the student, she should be punished for her actions, but the student genuinely didn't seem to realize what she had just done. She looked at the four students now by the door and ushered them in. "Come to class sooner next time."
'Wow… I thought I would get detention or points taken for what I just did, but she just seems confused…' Obelia quickly sat down, Draco followed and the Transfiguration Professor began class. She seemed very knowledgeable and began listing what they would learn in the class.
"We will not start by turning a match into a needle." As Professor McGonagall spoke Obelia's face turned pale and looked around in panic.
'Shit… I didn't think we would learn magic the first day! Arn't we supposed to talk about all the dangers!' She quickly pulled out a red marble and a thin vile with red liquid in it. She took the marble and placed it on her tongue, drinking the red liquid quickly after. 'Ugh, so disgusting' Obelia noticed Draco looking at her and explained whispering, "It's medicine, I forgot to take it in the morning." She didn't know if Draco would believe her or not but it was not her priority.
'Should I just fail? Use another method?' Obelia's mind turned crowded as options and scenarios passed through her mind, and none seemed like good options. 'Whatever, I'll use the little magic I've contained and use it once to make this quick.'
Obelia didn't want others to find out she was a squib, she believed she was strong enough to take down a few pre-teen wizards without magic, but knew it was better to be safe.
'This isn't the world of Harry Potter anymore, it's my own.' Obelia's eyes were full of passion. She raised her wand slowly and chanted the words in her head.
'Now, will I be able to trick everyone?'
