Chapter 17 - Chapter 17: The Tower

After spending what seemed like a week inside of the tower, I got the gist of it.

There were a lot of different opponents on each level and if I lost to one of them I lost any skill/rewards I got from the tower. But there was a catch. I had temporary access to a skill called 'Power Drain'. This skill basically took a bit of power from any opponents I beat.

After spending what seemed like a month inside of the tower, I wanted to leave.

Spending your whole day just trying to climb this with no end was hell to me. My body was tired, my brain was fried and I was just worn out.

"Congratulations, you have reached the final floor."

"YES, finally I can leave!" I celebrated. Finally I was done with this training. It was like having 30 pro fights every single day for a month.

"Don't count your chickens before they hatch."

As soon as the statue of JD said that an opponent walked out of the shadows to me.

But the most unexpected thing was that, it was me. I looked empty in the eyes though, there was something wrong with it.

"What is thi-" Before I finished my sentence the "shadow" version of me blasted a punch right to my face. I flew back 10 meters and got slammed straight into the wall right behind me.

My entire body froze. This was a way higher class opponent than every boxer I fought before, and I fought some pretty good boxers. I always checked every opponent on every floor of this tower's status window.

"Status Window."

These stats were much more superior than every opponent before this. At most the opponents I was fighting stats were B.

I tried staying back and predicting a punch that would come but I failed. He landed another good hit on me.

"I don't want to lose to you."

I needed the stat increase. If I can't beat a way more superior version of me than I can't become the best boxer in the world.

After spending one hour just tanking punches from superior me, I lost all of my will to live. I couldn't think straight, let alone stand straight.

After one entire day superior me was still not tired. Although I could feel his punches getting weaker, I was getting weaker with him. My body was about to break down, I was about to give up but a situation like this had already happened to me before. That day I didn't have a god given blessing, but I didn't need a blessing, I had
