Song Lin, Anna, and Sofia approached Lith and told him that their families would gather all the information about Lily's mother within two days.
Hearing this, Lith felt as though a heavy burden had lifted from his chest. This had been his biggest obstacle in the entire matter. After all, if he wanted to find Lily's mother himself, he would need to wait a long time to accumulate enough gold coins to buy the Law of Fate, then use it to search for her.
During that time, anything could happen to Lily's mother, which was why he was so worried. When sofia initially wanted to buy the Soul Mirror, Lith thought of enlisting the help of Sofia, Song Lin and Anna. However, he didn't know that Anna had left her family and was later adopted by Emily Arch.
Hearing that she would know about her mother in two days, Lily felt relieved. She also saw Sofia and knew who she was, which gave her even more hope for revenge. After all, everyone hated cultists even more than demons.
When Lily looked up, she saw Lith gazing at her. Her heart sped up a bit, then she heard him say, "I will give you two choices."
Hearing this, she became a bit nervous, wondering what those choices would be. Anna, Sofia, and Song Lin also looked at Lith with interest, curious to know what options he would present to Lily.
After getting everyone's attention, Lith continued, "First, I can heal your face and body. But due to the Lord of Power's influence, your foundation has been damaged. It would be impossible for you to grow stronger, and you would eventually die of old age."
Hearing this, everyone felt sad for Lily. She had been so talented; without these events, she would have become very powerful. But now, for the sake of her sister and fiancé, she had sacrificed everything.
Lily also felt a little disheartened. After all, who would want to live and die as an ordinary person? But she had already accepted her fate. Then she heard Lith's voice again.
"Or," Lith continued, "you could abandon your current body and bloodline to become my Apostle. You would transform into one of the Nine Races, gaining 1% of my power and access to a lesser version of my abilities. You would even be able to summon my army. The choice is yours."
Lily was shocked that her master could change her race and bestow his power upon her. She noticed even Sofia was taken aback at Lith's willingness to grant her 1% of his power. She wanted to ask him how he could make her an Apostle, as she thought only gods had them. But instead, she simply nodded and chose the second option.
Seeing her choice, Lith smiled and asked her again, "Choose from one of these nine banners: Undead, Beast, Shadow, Nature, Angel, Demon, Omnic, Zerg, or Eldritch. Your body will evolve according to your choice. For example, if you choose Beast, you could become a fox-girl, a cat-girl, or another form."
Everyone was shocked, each for different reasons. Lily was stunned by the many options. She never thought she would have the freedom to choose her own race. Sofia and the others, on the other hand, were astonished by the names of the nine races. All but Nature, Beast, and Angel were generally considered their enemies.
Sofia was grateful that she had found Lith that day and had become his friend, clearing up any misunderstandings between them. Otherwise, in the future, if Lith sought revenge against the Ye family, the Alliance might have supported them, and Ye Tian would have likely made Lith a public enemy. That would have been disastrous, as with Lith's powers, he could destroy the Alliance entirely.
Song Lin, meanwhile, raised her assessment of Lith's threat level to its maximum. She would need to warn her family to avoid provoking him.
After some thought, Lily chose to become an Angel. By doing so, her name would be instantly cleared. After all, calling an angel a cultist would be the biggest blow to the Church's credibility. Even the Silverheart family would have to hand over James. So, she said, "I want to become an Angel."
Hearing her answer, Lith smiled and reminded her, "It will be very painful."
Lily replied, "I am ready for any pain."
Lith laughed and said, "Then let's begin."
He opened the system mall and bought the only Apostle Order available, spending all his remaining gold coins. He had seen it before but never thought he'd use it so soon. Lith activated it.
A white light radiated from his hand and enveloped Lily. She felt pain all over her body. Soon, her clothes burned away, revealing her skin, but no one paid any attention as they were focused on her transformation. Her skin began to heal, restoring her previous appearance. Dark impurities seeped from her skin, only to be burned away by the light. Then she felt immense pain coming from her back.
Her back split open, and a pair of flawless angel wings appeared. Everyone was amazed. Then, under their shocked gaze, a second pair appeared, then a third. This continued until a total of 33 pairs of perfect angel wings emerged from her back. No one spoke, too stunned to react.
Sofia, Anna, and Song Lin could hardly believe their eyes. The most noble angels recorded in the Church's books had, at most, nine pairs of wings. Many believed that 18-winged angels were not the most powerful, but this Angel had 56 wings.
Lily's screams broke the silence. Lith knew why: her blood was transforming into light, an excruciating process that lasted three hours. When her blood finally turned into a golden light, her screams ceased.
Then her body began to glow. Her hair, once blonde, turned a mix of blonde and brown. She became unearthly beautiful, with rosy skin, and her body had become more voluptuous, now rivaling Sofia and Anna.
As the transformation ended, Lily lay on the bed, still unconscious. At that moment, Lith heard a system notification.
