"Speaking of..."
"Mira, your Take Over magic seems to have improved quite a lot. Did someone help you with it?"
Ian looked at Mirajane, who was now skillfully controlling her Take Over magic. After some thought, he couldn't help but ask.
If his memory served him right, at this point in time, Mirajane was supposed to be struggling with her magic, unable to fully control it, leading to an uncontrollable partial demonization of her body…
As Ian's magical power grew stronger, so did his memory. Details from the Fairy Tail manga he had read in his previous life now flashed through his mind like a slideshow.
"Oh, you're talking about my Take Over magic?"
"My benefactor taught me how to control it..."
Mirajane turned her head to look at Ian, explaining.
"Your benefactor?"
Ian asked, curious.
From what he remembered, there were very few people at this point in time capable of helping Mirajane master her magic with just a few pointers. Those who could were undoubtedly master-level mages.
"My benefactor's name is Ur!"
Mirajane answered without hesitation.
"Ur, huh?"
Ian smiled. He had suspected it was her.
This must be the so-called butterfly effect!
By helping Ur survive, Ian had altered the course of events, leading to Ur being able to assist more people in need.
"Yeah..."
"I heard that Ur, the mage who helped my siblings and me, is a member of Fairy Tail."
"I wanted to become a strong and carefree mage like her, so I decided to join the same guild."
"Besides, I heard Fairy Tail is a warm and welcoming place!"
"After all, I want my brother and sister to grow up in a good environment."
"But when I actually arrived at Fairy Tail, I was stunned! I wouldn't say I was disappointed, but... it was definitely... something else."
Mirajane's brows furrowed as she recalled the chaotic scene when she first kicked open the doors to Fairy Tail.
After a moment of reflection, she turned to Ian and asked, "Ian, now that I've got the Fairy Tail emblem on me, I can't exactly leave. So, can you finally give me a straight answer? I need to mentally prepare myself..."
"Ask away."
Ian nodded, ready to answer any questions.
"Alright then..."
"Tell me, is our Fairy Tail guild really a legitimate mage guild?"
"I mean, we aren't one of those guilds that claim to be for good but secretly do shady things, or worse—one that's in cahoots with dark guilds, right?"
Mirajane looked at Ian, seeking confirmation.
"Of course not!"
"Our Fairy Tail guild has nothing to do with dark guilds!"
"We are sworn enemies of evil, always standing against dark forces!"
Ian furrowed his brows and protested loudly. Fairy Tail truly had no direct ties to any dark guilds…
Well, except for maybe...
That infamous dark mage Zeref, who was the magic teacher of Fairy Tail's four founders, and also the lover of their first guild master, Mavis.
And then there was the second master, Precht, who left Fairy Tail and founded Grimoire Heart, one of the strongest dark guilds on the continent.
Natsu's little underling, the "Underworld King" Mard Geer, who, along with other demons from the Book of Zeref, founded Tartaros, the most mysterious dark guild on the continent.
Not to mention that Fairy Tail itself was considered by the Magic Council to be the third greatest threat to the continent of Ishgar, just after Grimoire Heart and Tartaros.
But other than that...
How bad could Fairy Tail be?!
They were practically saints!
"Is that really true?"
Mirajane still looked somewhat skeptical.
"It's true, I swear!"
Ian raised three fingers, swearing to the heavens.
"I'll believe you."
In the end, Mirajane sighed. Since she now bore the Fairy Tail emblem, she had no choice but to trust the guild. Whether she believed it or not, she was stuck.
She was already "tainted"—so to speak.
Cough, cough.
"Anyway, let's head to the guild!"
After answering Mirajane's questions, Ian led her, Elfman, and Lisanna through the doors of Fairy Tail.
"Bastard! Don't steal my stuff!"
"More drinks, more drinks!"
Inside the guild, it was as chaotic as ever—like a den of misfits.
"Hey, everyone! We've got new members!!"
Ian shouted, his voice cutting through the rowdy atmosphere.
"What? New members?"
The rowdy crowd suddenly paused, eyes turning to the newcomers—Mirajane, Elfman, and Lisanna.
It seemed that new members in Fairy Tail were a rare and surprising occurrence.
Dozens of eyes fixated on the trio, making them feel slightly uncomfortable, reminding them of the times they were treated like monsters in their old village.
"Yay!! Finally, new members!"
But the next second…
The entire guild erupted into cheers, celebrating Mirajane and her siblings' arrival.
"What's your name?"
"What kind of magic do you use?"
"How old are you?"
The Fairy Tail members, like kids discovering a shiny new toy, gathered around the siblings, bombarding them with questions.
"Uh…"
"I'm 13 years old."
"My magic is Take Over..."
"And the creature I take over is a demon's soul."
"If you're scared, feel free to stay away from me..."
Mirajane, unaccustomed to being surrounded by so many enthusiastic people, blurted out the details of her magic, hoping to scare them off.
She thought that once they learned she took over a demon's soul, they would run away—just like the villagers who once treated her kindly but then feared and rejected her.
"What? You take over demons?"
The crowd paused for a moment.
"Heh, scared, right?"
"If you're afraid, just keep your distance..."
Mirajane tried to sound tough, but there was a hint of disappointment in her eyes.
She figured that even in a mage guild, she would still be an outcast.
"That's so cool!!"
But instead of fear, the Fairy Tail members grew even more excited.
"What?"
Mirajane thought she had misheard and clarified, "Wait! Didn't you hear me? I take over demons—evil demons!"
"Hey, don't get cocky just because your Take Over magic involves demons!"
"Let me tell you, the magic I use is Dragon Slayer Magic, which was used to fight dragons in ancient times!"
"The one who taught me magic was a real, living dragon!"
"I'm the real special one here."
"Dragon Slayer magic is the strongest!"
Natsu, mistakenly thinking Mirajane was showing off, jumped onto a table and declared loudly.
"That's nonsense! The Ice-Make magic Ur taught me is the strongest!"
Gray quickly retorted.
Only Ur's magic could be the strongest!
"Hmph..."
"My Titan Magic is the most powerful of all!"
Makarov chimed in with a cold smile, looking at Gray and Natsu.
"Hey, old man, stop stirring up trouble."
Ian sighed, watching Makarov, a grown man, arguing with the kids. How could someone his age still be this childish?
Ian then added, "Clearly, the Gravity and Heavenly Body magic I use are the strongest."
Cough, cough.
"My magic is the strongest and the most special…"
"You're full of it! Mine is the most special!"
"Haha, looks like the only way to settle this is a fight to see whose magic is the strongest and most special!"
"Bring it on! Do you think I'm afraid? What a joke."
Before long, what started as a verbal argument in Fairy Tail once again escalated into a full-blown brawl, verging on a magical war.
"Wait a second..."
"What the heck is going on?"
Mirajane wiped a tear from her eye as she watched the chaos unfold. This guild was ridiculous—but just as Ian had said, no one here looked down on her...
Because every single person in this guild was just as much of a misfit as she was.
"Didn't I tell you?"
"Fairy Tail is awesome, isn't it?"
Ian said with a smile.
