Chapter 5 - First evolution

"0.29 energy value should be more than enough to enter the special class."

According to Fuyuki's original memory, the minimum vitality score required to enter the special class is 0.5 points. And with a 0.29 energy value, it's already more than enough to meet the minimum vitality requirement.

"With this, I should have already started the snowball effect," Nao murmured softly.

In this world where demons and monsters run rampant, cultivation resources have become one of the most important things.

And one way to obtain these resources as a high school student is by entering the special class.

Generally, first-year high school students learn basic knowledge and martial arts fundamentals. However, they still have to study formal subjects like history, mathematics, physics, etc.

Only when their vitality reaches 0.5 can they move to the special class, where they will be taught foundation techniques and provided with training resources like mutant monster meat, training facilities, etc.

They no longer need to study formal subjects, and all of this is funded by the government.

Usually, ordinary students without any background enter the special class when they are in their third year of high school, while talented students typically enter the special class in their second year.

This creates a situation where, even if ordinary students enter the special class, they won't receive as many resources as talented students.

After all, one starts in the third year and the other in the second year. One will receive more resources than the other.

And also, because they are still in the regular class, their training time is reduced as they still need to study formal subjects.

The reason for this is to ensure that valuable cultivation resources can be distributed effectively.

Even though all resources are funded by the government, the government's resources are also limited.

Another reason is to shape their future. The country doesn't just need people fighting on the front lines; it also needs people to handle the country's internal affairs, public facilities, and social services.

For example, shopkeepers, snack vendors, public transportation drivers, and so on.

This might seem trivial, but if you consider the impact, you'll realize it's not.

A small example of the impact is an ice cream vendor who stops selling ice cream to train.

What they think is, 'By becoming a strong martial artist, I can change my destiny, and the money will come by itself, so why should I continue with this lousy job?'

This results in an ice cream shortage. And if someone wants to eat ice cream, their choices are either to make it themselves or buy it from a place that still has ice cream, but at a much higher price.

Now replace the ice cream vendor with farmers, ranchers, truck drivers, shop workers, and so on. And this is just a small impact.

There are still many other, larger impacts, such as a world led by barbarians who only know how to punch without the ability to think.

This was the biggest challenge and headache for the second emperor of humanity.

He was the one who created and proposed this policy, which was quickly approved by many countries.

"The second emperor truly deserves to be called the emperor of humanity."

"He not only solved the problem of wasting the time of strong martial artists on handling state affairs, but also created a sense of security for the weak by giving them strong authority."

Thinking about the second emperor's achievements, Nao couldn't help but feel admiration.

"it's just that this isn't the right time to think about this" he muttered, seeing the timer in front of him showing 8:26.

"But what creature should I merge with the Arowana clone?"

"According to Fuyuki's original memory, there are still some leftover mutant animal meats, but is that enough? No, the text clearly states a 'creature,' not just pieces of meat," Nao frowned as he pondered this.

"Even if I buy one now, it will take at least 30 minutes to arrive."

Nao's frown deepened.

"It seems there's only one option." Looking toward his kitchen, Nao muttered softly.

In his kitchen, Nao took an electric eel out of his refrigerator.

At first, Nao had only thought of the eel as icing on the cake, since all he needed was the tuna.

But he didn't expect that what he had initially underestimated would become a great help in this critical moment.

Back at his aquarium, Nao looked at his clone and the timer still showing seven minutes. He placed the electric eel into the aquarium.

Nao then directed his consciousness into the clone, and the clone in the aquarium opened its eyes, revealing sharp golden pupils.

Seeing the electric eel fall into the water, the clone immediately moved toward it, biting and devouring the eel's body completely, leaving not even the bones behind.

The flesh was converted into energy, but unlike before, the energy remained stored in its stomach and did not spread throughout the body.

This time, instead of feeling the usual pleasant sensation, Nao felt a burning sensation in his stomach.

"Evolution begins!" Nao began the evolution process for his clone, enduring the discomfort in his stomach.

In an instant, the Arowana clone released the energy it had accumulated in its body, and it exploded! Like an avalanche, the immense energy flooded every part of the body.

The cells in the Arowana clone's body became highly active, continuously dividing, growing, and solidifying.

The genes within the cells also underwent a world-shaking transformation. The clone's genes were damaged and repaired, constantly reorganized and fused.

At that moment, Nao felt extremely uncomfortable.

From the Arowana's perspective, all six of its senses suddenly vanished and merged. Its body felt so light that it couldn't feel any weight at all.

This state lasted about two minutes before slowly subsiding.

At that moment, the scales on the Arowana's body had almost entirely turned blue, its body was sleeker, and its whiskers fluttered, displaying its dominant side!

If you looked closely, you could see golden lightning flashing in the eyes of the Arowana clone.
