Chapter 12: A Special Day
Yosen College — A Special Event.
Yosen's student body gathered in the auditorium, eager to hear the latest school announcement.
— Courtsey: Leaked information from Second and Third year student.
The Vice-Chancellor had stepped up, gave his usual tired sigh, as he began.
"We're doing Supernatural Halloween this year."
"You know, parties, blah blah—just don't summon anything real or blow up the school this time."
This marked the official start of the most chaotic week in Yosen history.
The students treated this like their personal holiday.
No classes, no homework—just vibes and partying.
Heck. Some showed up with overnight bags, like they were refugees escaping academic oppression.
Yosen's legendary grind culture had taken a rare day off, and nobody knew when it'd happen again.
People weren't celebrating Halloween so much as celebrating freedom.
In a Certain Classroom.
Shane leaned casually against a desk, grinning wickedly at Ayaka Tendou, who stood uncertainly in front of him.
"Here, Ayaka. If you really want to see Damian teach you a brand-new technique later, you'll need to wear this."
He handed her a certain outfit, a complete set without any parts lacking.
It was times like this that he thanks his siblings for their fetishes.
However, "...This?" Ayaka tilted her head, examining the costume.
"Yup. He won't show it to you otherwise," Shane said with a smug grin.
Ayaka considered it for a moment, then gave a slow, serious nod.
"I see. If it's for training... then I'll do it."
Shane barely contained his laughter, waving her off as she left to prepare.
"Perfect. Just... don't tell Damian I said anything."
Yosen College — At the Student Council Room.
Enma entered the office and found the student council president, Eira Seiravelle, buried in paperwork.
They weren't much on her desk, but enough to keep her occupied for the meantime.
"You're still working?" Enma asked, leaning against the doorframe.
Eira froze, but didn't look up.
"Ah… all I just have to do is finish all these, I should be done in a few hours time. Don't mind me."
Enma sighed as he watched her, still buried in the paperwork.
Perhaps, he couldn't bare to see her buried in much work, even on a day like this that was literally a holiday for the students.
"I'll help you with the work, then."
Then, as if on cue, from the door. Vice-President Kinji's voice sounded as he entered.
"Heh. I expected this, President. Same thing happened last year."
Kinji stood, adjusting his cuffs with a sigh and a shake of his head.
"That's why I've already notified Tsubaki beforehand."
"I'll be delegating the workload between myself and Tsubaki."
"Kinji…" Eira began, but Kinji held up a hand to stop her.
"Leave it to us, President. You've been working yourself into the ground. Right, Enma?"
Kinji turned to Enma who in turn, glanced at the frozen Eira, then gave a slow nod.
"Yeah. He's not wrong."
Kinji clapped his hands together.
"So, President Eira Seiravelle, as your vice-president, I officially advice you to take the day off."
Eira, hearing the words come out of her vice looked bewildered.
"Take the day off? What should I even do with it?"
Kinji, as if he hadn't thought much about that part, shrugged.
"I don't know. Maybe walk around, see how the event is going?"
He shot a knowing glance at Enma, who also nodded in agreement.
"I guess."
After a moment of hesitation and contemplation, Eira sighed. "Will you accompany me, Enma?"
"Of course."
Yosen College — Campus Ground.
In the meantime, while that was happening, the campus buzzed with activity.
Pairs and groups of students wandered around, taking advantage of the rare chance to slack off.
Yosen's strict standards were infamous, so today felt like a breath of fresh air.
And besides, who knows when next they would experience an easygoing day such as this.
Kaiden and Lucas had found a café to lounge in, sipping overpriced pumpkin lattes like two retirees on vacation.
Shane, on the other hand, rejoined Damian after handling some matters.
They both explored the school together since they both had nothing much to do.
Yosen College — Evening.
The Auditorium.
As the night descended, the auditorium filled with students dressed in various costumes.
The seats had been folded and packed to the side, leaving a massive open hall for the party.
A certain Beastfallen student, transformed into his bestial form, stood proudly in the crowd.
"Heh! With this majestic form, I need no costume!"
Of course, in response to this, a group of sophomores groaned from the side.
"That cocky freshman—"
"Haha. He does look the part though, lol."
Back at the Student Council Office —
Kinji and Tsubaki stood before Eira, their arms crossed.
"We knew this would happen, President," Tsubaki said with a sigh.
Kinji nodded. "That's why we prepared something for you."
The two, from nowhere, pulled out a costume and handed it to Eira, who took a step back in disbelief.
Before she could protest, Kinji and Enma left the room—leaving Tsubaki alone to "convince" her.
Minutes later, after loud crashes and a yelp from Eira, the door opened.
The president stepped out, her expression, darker than a thundercloud, sending a chill down Kinji's spine.
She locked eyes with Kinji and smiled sweetly—too sweetly.
"Since you care so much about my well-being, Vice-President..."
"How about I dump a week's worth of student council work on you?"
Kinji broke into a cold sweat but accepted his fate with a resigned nod.
"... That seems fair."
Yosen — Auditorium.
The party was in full swing.
Music blared as students danced in their costumes, enjoying the rare opportunity to cut loose.
Up on the stage, Eira gave a surprisingly brief speech, much to everyone's relief.
Cheers erupted from the crowd as the festivities kicked off in earnest.
Meanwhile, in the Crowd.
Damian raised an eyebrow as Ayaka approached him, dressed in a very revealing maid outfit.
"Uh… why are you wearing that?"
Ayaka blinked innocently.
"Shane told me to wear it. He said you'd teach me a new technique."
Damian pinched the bridge of his nose, feeling a headache creep in as curious whispers spread through the crowd.
"That scoundrel!"
Someone hissed.
"A new technique?! What kind of technique?! I need more details!"
Another fell.
"Tsk! Dammit! Why is it always the handsome dudes!"
Another wailed.
Grumbling under his breath, Damian grabbed Ayaka's hand, pulling her away to avoid any more prying eyes.
"Shane… you're dead," he muttered darkly to himself.
Nearby, Kaiden adjusted his Frankenstein costume and gave Lucas a sideways glance.
"Do you really have to wear that?"
Lucas tugged awkwardly at the hem of his maid outfit.
"I thought I'd be comfortable, but… yeah. Not anymore."
Seeing the stares from nearby students, Lucas clung to Kaiden's arm.
"Don't leave me."
Enma and Eira sat quietly at the edge of the stage, away from the noisy crowd.
"So, how's your first Halloween at Yosen been?" Eira asked softly, glancing at him.
A faint, almost imperceptible smile crossed Enma's face.
"So far, so good. It's different. But... not bad."
Eira gave a light huff. "You don't smile much, do you?"
Enma glanced at her briefly before looking back toward the crowd.
The party carried on well into the night, with students laughing, dancing, and celebrating.
For once, they could forget about training, getting stronger and responsibilities.
But then—
"Heh. It's showtime."
A voice mumbled from the shadows, barely audible over the music.
At first, nothing seemed to happen. Then—
"Whoa."
A student swayed and collapsed into the person next to them.
The onlookers paused, puzzled, but shrugged it off. Until—
"Ahhh…"
One by one, students began dropping like flies, slumping to the floor.
Near the stage, Enma and Eira leaned against each other, their heads gently touching as they both passed out.
"Ugh..." Ayaka stumbled, falling to her knees before hitting the floor.
Damian managed to stay upright just long enough to glare into the crowd.
"...ne you're so dead…"
In the restroom.
Kaiden, in a comedic twist, clocked out mid-wash, his head slumping into the sink with a loud thunk.
Silence fell over the auditorium as every student collapsed where they stood.
Lucas returned to the auditorium, only to find everyone passed out on the floor.
"Eh…? What's going on?"
His eyes widened as he spotted Damian still standing, unconscious.
"Is this… an enemy attack?" He looked over and could see some other people—
—the Disciplinary Chairman who also was seated at the VIP seat clocked out, his head on a table.
"The heck is happening—!"
Just as he was about to shout dor help, a familiar voice whispered behind him.
"Shhh. Be a good boy and stay quiet." Lucas turned slightly, but before he could—
TAP.
He crumpled to the ground, barely able to mumble:
"It's you… S—"
With that, the entire student body of Yosen College lay unconscious, the party ending in eerie silence.
This event would later come to be known to future students of Yosen College as one of the seven wonders of Yosen College.
—The Great Halloween Crashout.
At the same time — Far east of the
world.
In the heart of a dark castle, under the pale glow of the moon, a figure sat on a throne.
Their mismatched eyes glimmered with amusement as they stared into the void before them.
They swirled a glass of crimson liquid, fangs gleaming under the moonlight.
"Interesting."
